Whilst I'm not saying in any way, shape or form that Simeone should come or stay away, I do feel there is perhaps just a tad more to Atletico Madrid than merely being "...Stoke on speed..." or "...Stoke on steroids..."

Not much though. They can be VERY negative, and are VERY aggressive as a team. Don't get me wrong, I really rate him, but he's a million miles from being the right guy for City.

They're already doing so without this thread, Bill. Our next three games are crucial - If our performances don't improve over those games, the media really will be all over Pellegrini.

He already looks lost on the touchline - He's pretty much a spent force as far as this season goes. It'll take a near miracle to get his credibility back to where it was pre-Toure outburst.

we need our injured players back and for pellers to start will the best 11. do that and we'll win all 3.
If Pellegrini hadn't played Silva in the capitol one cup we might have beaten QPR and CSKA.

100% correct.

Exactly right. Very few of the current City squad are capable of playing the way Simeone would want, so we'd need a huge overhaul for starters. Without it we'd just be swapping one manager whose players lack the key ingredients of pace, mobility, flair and desire to succeed in Europe, for another. Plus Abu Dhabi want to win playing a particular way (brand image and all that). I don't think Simeone's preferred style would fit in with that.

Don't forget your own mantra. We should always play our strongest team. ;-)

It's just not that easy to come up with a list of candidates who could replace MP. For me it keeps coming back to the idea that unless City can get Klopp or Guardiola, I don't see any point in any change prior to Pellegrini's contract coming to an end at the end of next season.

Obviously if something goes horribly wrong between now and then they might have to, but honestly fuck knows who they should appoint if that were the case. I can't think of a single name that'd inspire in footballing terms.

Extremely harsh on Simeone that. To win La Liga ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid is an immense achievement these days. He's taken that team to the Champs League final as well, coming very close to winning it. Is he completely incapable of adapting his style to suit a completely different squad of players? Top managers tend to be adaptable and pragmatic, and if a more attractive brand of football is a prerequisite of a job offer, then that should form part of the interview process, although I have to say that we do need to be more disciplined if we want to progress in Europe, and Simeone definitely brings something to the table that we're currently missing imo.

if is a two letter word that is all.

The rest is mere speculation.

simeone is disciplined but in a positive way. he gets his team to defend high up the pitch rather than defend deep.

i just hope if we do sign him that we clear out some of our lazy players and bring some grafters in. im super excited about the rumours that we will activate kokes 48 million clause. this lad is fabregas who can defend.
