You can't blame it all on the manager.
Serious questions need to be asked of the players and their general attitude. They imploded in 2013 and handed a shit rag side the title by 11 points, virtually surrendering and given up by the end. The players then got Bobby sacked.

Fast forward 2 years and history is repeating itself, we have not got the balls or attitude to win back to back titles, it's no wonder opposition fans label our players mercenaries. I don't like the label but on days like this it's hard to argue.
When one or two players are performing poorly it's their fault. When as a collective the team has been shite for over a month it's the managers fault.

I think you can blame it on the manager.

It looks like we lack preparation. We played like we were winging it. No game plan at all. And shape? What is that? Because we don't have one.
It appears to me that Pellegrini picks his best 11 players and hopes someone does something. I seriously think we lack coaching. Just look at the fucking corners shambles as an example.

1st week in feb and nothing to play for domestically (well... other than staying in the top 4), no tactics, playing players out of position and utterly idiotic on substitutions.

Never took to him myself. We had by far the best team and squad last season and still only just won the league. We won it despite him, not because of him.

Let's hope Guardiola fancies a change in the summer because Pellegrini is not good enough. Simple as that

You can't defend Pellegrini with today's result but the same could of been said about Roberto Mancini.

It could but Mancini had to at least overcome a 40 year hurdle and had Ferguson, rather than Brent, to deal with.

The squad needs some more quality added to it now but over the years I wouldn't argue with those who say that our players haven't had the quality of manager they deserve.

Pellegrini had Mourinho to contend with and it being his first season in charge in English football. Saying that both have failed to mount a decent defence of the title.

He comes across as a nice bloke and all but tactically he is nowhere near good enough.

You can say he won the League and League Cup double last season but at the end of the day out squad wa miles ahead of everybody else's. Chelsea had no forwards an didn't have a competent central midfielder until they brought in Matic in January, United had their worst squad in 25 years, Arsenal were Arsenal an Liverpool were carried by Suarez and only had one game a week, it would have been one of the biggest failures in the PL era for us to have not won the league last season.

I think if we go 10 points behind in the next few weeks and get a battering from Barca i reckon there is a possibility of him being sacked before the season has finished and Vieira will come in for a bit and blood some of the kids ready for next season.

How can we afford to blood kids when they will be fighting for a top 4 finish or even a top 6 on this form.

I always supported Pellegrini but I'm losing the faith in him.

Same here blue. I dont want to lose it, in fact I am a big fan of the fella - but fuck me to follow up a decent performance against the chavs with that just leaves me scratching my head and wondering how that can be allowed to happen.
