You can't defend Pellegrini with today's result but the same could of been said about Roberto Mancini.

It could but Mancini had to at least overcome a 40 year hurdle and had Ferguson, rather than Brent, to deal with.

The squad needs some more quality added to it now but over the years I wouldn't argue with those who say that our players haven't had the quality of manager they deserve.

Pellegrini had Mourinho to contend with and it being his first season in charge in English football. Saying that both have failed to mount a decent defence of the title.

Mourinho had absolutely 0 strikers. If he had had 1 decent striker CFC would probably be champions now, not us.

Not saying he should be the next City manager but this laissez faire attitude to management from Pellegrini doesn't seem to be working

Serious questions need to be asked of the players and their general attitude. They imploded in 2013 and handed a shit rag side the title by 11 points, virtually surrendering and given up by the end. The players then got Bobby sacked.

Fast forward 2 years and history is repeating itself, we have not got the balls or attitude to win back to back titles, it's no wonder opposition fans label our players mercenaries. I don't like the label but on days like this it's hard to argue.

I think you can blame it on the manager.

It looks like we lack preparation. We played like we were winging it. No game plan at all. And shape? What is that? Because we don't have one.
It appears to me that Pellegrini picks his best 11 players and hopes someone does something. I seriously think we lack coaching. Just look at the fucking corners shambles as an example.

Agree. Seems to me Pellegrini only has ONE game plan, pass it wide to the wingbacks and cross the ball into the box. Teams have found us out, including teams like Burnley and fucking hull! God knows what barca will do to us and next up is stoke away on a Wednesday night. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if we lose.

Very true, but that doesn't mean he isn't the best man for the job. Clearly the best young manager in Europe today, and if we pass and he goes to Arsenal or Liverpool we will live to regret it.

^This. He's way too patient with our subs. When something's not working he waits for it to fix itself. This irritates me and the fact that he looks like he's randomly picked some players from our starting XI to play.

Anyone who thinks Atleti are just like Chavs needs to download today's game and watch it in its entirety. It was not only a lesson on how to set up a TEAM and motivate them but also a footballing lesson. The genius behind Simeone is he gets total commitment game in game out for 95 mins and the players buy into it completely. MP looks incompetent in comparison
