Sent a message out tonight that nobody is above being simply dropped for not delivering. Whether that was right or wrong, we will see, but he's certainly trying to shake it up. It was a weak side on paper but they did the job fine and could easily have scored five. But that lampard for silva sub was totally bizarre. Silva was running the game and we don't play for 10 days. I know it was to push yaya forward but silva should have stayed on the pitch.

As OB1 said earlier, he's a brave man sending that eleven out but, whilst we were patchy, it worked.

Got to agree. Very brave.
I thought so too.

I texted my lad before kick off "Is he trying to get sacked ?", but fair play he got the result, and despite looking disjointed at times, we could easily have scored 7 or 8. I agreed with Vinny being left out, but don't know why Clichy has been dumped, and Fernando shouldn't be near the starting line up right now. The Bony and Silva subs were also strange ones, Silva was our best player, and Bony was involved and held the ball up really well.

well he wants Milner to stay so has to show faith in him, and I imagine he's required to put Lampard to some use with all the nonsense that's gone on there, and he's getting performances out of Dzeko so I guess he's continuing that show of faith by keeping him involved.

Like you though I am a bit bewildered how players are starting to go from the first team to out of the 18, and vice-versa, I mean where was Navas on Sunday that meant he couldn't be involved (when we needed him) but suddenly can play the whole game 3 days later? It's strange, and his persistence with Fernando in a 2 just reminds me of the stubbornness of Mancini. I don't know what message he's trying to send, but he better be careful because there's precedent for managers who do so.

It was all a bit strange tonight, one of those nights where it could feasibly have either ended 6/7-0 to us or 3/4-1 to Leicester, had they been given certain decisions. In the end we got the result we needed because of the chasing pack, but I hope stuff is cleared up in the next 10 days and we regroup, because the players seem frustrated and the manager is making increasingly strong/strange choices, and it makes it uncertain about where we're going to end up. It either really works or we end up in a 2012/13 situation, I hope Pelle knows where the line is and I hope, despite the previous 18 months, that he at least stops playing Fernando in a 2, and displays a modicum of sanity. It sounds harsh, but like Rodwell playing, I just can't fathom or accept that managerial decision.

Jeez, I think it's you who needs a break again from the forum.

It was blatantly obvious what Jay was saying, nearly every post I've read from you over the last week or two has been inflammatory.

Give it a rest, it's very dull.

It's because the forum has been full of inane rubbish over the past couple of weeks and the best way to combat it is to point it out as inane rubbish that shouldn't be taken seriously.

I'd also like to point out that my post was mainly about the topic in hand with an aside to jay for the reasons that I said, whereas your post was totally about me and nothing to do with the thread. If you have a problem with somebody either PM them or keep it to yourself. Your post was totally unnecessary and exactly the shit that we're trying to stop. You can apologise via PM rather than taking up more space in the thread.

You should move to RAWK lah.

Not everyone agrees with your rants, get over it.

To be fair Damo, you did jump on me a bit on Twitter tonight when i Tweeted if dropping Kompany would make much difference or not. Somehow I was saying that I was saying that Pellerini wont get credit if we win and it would have been his fault if we lost in the reply from you, which had nothing to do with my original tweet.

If the team wins, manager gets credit, if they lose, then part of the blame is on the manager ... it goes with the job.

I get the feeling you are an advocate of Pellegrini, which is great, i'm an advocate for reviewing it all in the summer and decide where we should go from there.

But please don't assume that what people are saying is automatically anti-Pellegrini, just because you think "some fans" are saying certain things that you don't agree with, that everyone is saying it. Its all about opinions, if we agree with them or not, have to respect that everyone has the right to express them or what is the point of BM?

We all get wound up, me included, especially when the team loses. Its what being a fan is about .... passionate about our team.

I hope no-one is painting his selection tonight as a masterstroke. We barely beat the bottom team at home and were fortunate with a couple of pens and the post.

We didn't play well, the arguing between the players reflected this, but even if it was a great piece of management.... I'd call it redundant. Where is it when we actually need it? Pearce's toy horse could guide us to a win vs Leicester at home. He has been asleep at the wheel -or worse- when the onus has been more on the manager to get the results.

It's difficult to slag Pellegrini off after last season when we won a double, but I've always had worries regarding his tactical abilities.

A good example is the Malaga Champions League game against Dortmund where Malaga managed to lose 3-2, although they were 2-1 up in the 91st minute. The Malaga defence is just as messy and disorganised as we are used to see ours nowadays.

Youtube Dortmund Malaga 3-2 if you don't know what I'm talking about.

I think this a well balanced summary

i think you are being over the top in the critique mate, yes they hadone poss pen shout and hit the post but that was it really

bony could have an hat trick, aguero missed a great chance on the volley and schwarzer saved them on more than one occassion, one from toure was a great save

we weren't at our best best but could have easily been over the hill and far away on another day

Some of the team have bottled it imo and their heads have gone.

I'm behind Pellers for trying to make a point via his selections as I can imagine some of the senior players being total slapped arses and a couple of primadonas causing some unrest.

Modern footballers. Sad really...
