More than good enough to beat Leicester and it was.

You honestly had no reservations last night before the game?

Fair do's if you didnt then mate.

As MA has said its blatantly obvious with his selection and pre match press conference that he has the full backing of the powers that be, thats good enough for me, I'm just waiting now to see who we sign in the summer as that's the most important window the club has had in years, in the meanwhile i will still keep shouting myself hoarse at the game.

Pellergrini is being let down by his midfield at the moment and its the biggest weak link we have. Going forward they are fantastic but defensively, almost to a man they are going missing and when teams park the bus and break at us, just look at our defence having to face a quick break almost on their own with more often than not, us sat on the edge of our box and the midfielders are not even in sight. For me if thats the way we are going to play then its a case of getting the players in that will do their jobs correctly and its something i think is going to happen.

Just on AK. teams parking the bus like last night at home dont need Clichy who is a far better defender. They need someone like AK who can get forward and whip his crosses in and thats what we normally see selection wise.

I think we haven't found the right combination in the middle for Pellegrini's 442. It worked with Fernandinho and Toure last season but for whatever reason Dinho hasn't hit last season's heights. Fernando is totally different and probably isn't the long term solution but a squad player.

I would not be at all surprised if this summer we bought two first choice centre midfield players, with Toure being rotated even more next season and one of Dinho or Fernando being sold.

There seems to be something going on in the background at City, or so it appears.

Baffling squad selection last night as many have said, Navas out Navas in, Ditto Fernandinho & Nasri

And the biggest one for me is Kolorov over Clichy- i will never ever understand how that lazy cigar smoking shit pulls on a blue shirt ever regardless of who we are playing.

Its not having a dig at Manuel here but what the fuck is he doing?
There was nothing baffling at all. All straightforward. It was just a matter of time before we broke down a very poor but very defensive side

The only thing slightly different was that Bony played right up front and Aguero dropped deeper. I'm not sure that worked for Aguero but it certainly worked for Bony who could have scored a few. He didn't have his shooting boots on, but with a bit of confidence he could have bagged a few.

The only downside of the night was that Bony did not score and that the other teams at the top all won

Bold changes last night, dropped the captain, and others, got the result. Upwards please.

While I agree with his shaking up/refreshing of the team for the Leicester game and also going 4-4-2 for the game (we shouldnt need to defend that much against the bottom of the league team) I think tonight highlighted how in fact weak our 4-4-2 set up is as Leicester on a number of occasions had far too much space to run into in front of our back 4......if Leicester can do it then better teams will and have certainly punished us.....we dont have the players to play 4-4-2 against decent opposition...fine against the likes of Leicester as we should still overpower them but not against the bigger teams and here in lies the criticism of Pellers - he doesnt adapt at all to the opposition in front of him hence why we struggle against better teams.......

intresting that tonight that once we went 4-5-1, Leicester didnt have one opportunity that i can remember to run straight at our two centre halves....it happened on 2-3 occasions in the first half however. Im not sayin ghtt they still didnt create any chances as i think if memory serves correct they did but that was from out wide IIRC

it happened in the second half too we was too open yaya is not a def midfielder he should be further up with silva n nasri n keep the two ferns infront of the back four

Still struggling to find the right team balance! Right hand side was solid but we were wide open on the left and between the center of midfield and center of defence! Its something that needs working on when the midfield press high up the defence needs to push up as well otherwise it just leaves massive spaces to be countered on! Playing silva on the left in a 4-4-2 leaves us wide open! He needs to play central in a 3 or just behind in the 10 role! I think a 3-4-1-2 would suit ys down to the ground but would probably be to late in the season to work on it.

Hart
Vinny demi mangala
zabba yaya diniho kolarov
Silva
Bony aguero

loads of options could even go 3-4-2-1 with nasri in for bony! Sagna could play in a back 3 as could clichy milner and navas would make decent wing backs! All in all it just gives us balance and makes the team look more solid! If we are going to keep these players and boss I hope it's something he looks at in the summer!

Did you miss Kolarov's ball in that led to us scoring???

Interesting.

It wasn't baffling at all. It's been a busy schedule including a huge CL tie and a trip to Anfield. At home against a team like Leicester who were going to stay compact defensively, it made sense to play Kolarov because of his delivery, Navas for pace and because Nasri was anonymous in both the Barca and Liverpool games. Fernandinho was a call that I wouldn't have made, I would only play Fernando in a 3 man midfield, but Pellegrini believes otherwise and we won so there's no issue.

Navas presses as does Silva, and so does Milner & Sergio does his fair share, the rest don't do it or don't like doing it week in week out, the two striker system and two defensive midfielders only works effectively if all are doing it, for me some of them don't think they should be doing namely Nasri and Yaya-I'd fuck the pair of them off to be honest and get some steel in there who do as the Manager asks.

As a fan base it appears some have completely forgot that we are playing against another team who are allowed to sometimes play well, create chances and score goals. We score a goal and its fantastic play yet the opposition do and all of a sudden its crap defending.

This league is getting stronger every year and there is no such thing as a certainty any more and with the TV monies coming in, even bottom three sides will be buying players at £15-20M and £100,000 a week and they will be very very good players.

Leicester got in our box a few times last night and as it is with the PL and players these days, they fell over under minimal contact, at least in the first instance they did. It happens and it will happen every week and it doesn't make us shit. They had a few chances on the break and again, it happens and will happen every week, it doesn't make us shit.

We are not the Harlem Globetrotters yet it appears some on here think we should be.

Changes are going to be made this summer and some big names are going to be upset.

They possibly already know, hence them not ripping up many trees of late?
