And you would seriously let Pellegrini loose with £100 million in his pocket? That's brave fella.

But we dont let any manager loose with £100 million do we?

Thats not how the club is run. Pellegrini is a coach. The next man will be a coach and so on........

Possibly, but if a coach of the stature or Guardiola came in, I cant imagine his views would be ignored

This is not something said because of our poor form of late, ive said it even when he was winning the double. The nature of Bobs departure meant we needed a safe pair of hands. Pellegrini fitted the bill perfectly in that he knew Txiki and Ferran and they knew him and that he would work within a framework which to be fair to the man he has done.

Pep is the target of that im sure and due to his stature within the game, yes, im sure he will be given more of a say but the club has set its stall out going forward and whilst Txiki is here, im sure players will be brought in whether a coach/manager wants them or not.

I really rate and like Pellegrini but today was possibly a watershead moment for him. For me he was only here for 3 years and no more regardless but something is not right and it could well be we have had the nod off Pep or another target and he knows he is off and more importantly, the players know it.

Pep has worked with these guys before and very successfully so knows the score.

He would probably be sacked or close to being sacked if the people above him weren't obsessed with the clubs image

Nasri's comments yesterday and in the past about every individual having to play for their future this season while a bit simplistic and a rally cry do indicate that significant changes both on and off the field are afoot.

Players wouldn't know about what is going on behind closed doors but clearly something has to change and whether you call it MP's transition and or the obvious change in recruitment policy required at the club it would have to of been planned and in its early stages of implementation as we speak.

MP was only at best going to be given three years and now its blatantly obvious due to demands of the job and the way the players have gone about there job this season irrespective of the 7 point gap to Chelsea which clearly will only widen that he will be gone at the end of the season.

The football hasn't been good , it has been attractive and it certainly hasn't helped with the global brand.

We know the" best squad" doesn't always get the job done and sometimes they fall well short but the last 6 games and performances throughout the season from the very first at Wembley could only convince any neutral observer that the squad needs radical change from the captain down and under new management if they are to be competitive in the latter stages of the Chumps League without compromising the standard required in the premiership.

The sooner this is done the better.

Whether the players are not motivated enough to get the job done efficiently and effectively time and again is probably not the main point and whether that reflects poorly on MP as well is not the main point.

Its time for the next stage of our development and the vast majority of this squad are not part of it.

They have served their purpose and by and large have done it well.

Pep isn't coming to us while those two are here. Until we jettison the pair we are going to regress.

If Viera was given to the end of the season do you think our defence would improve? Do you think he'd play Fernando in a 442? Do you think he'd have the respect of the players?

I can't see how he could do any worse than the current manager. We had a good 6 week period around December. Other than that we've been patchy at best, diabolical at worst.

Coincidentally the good 6 week spell corresponded with Fernando being out of the team. The manager doesn't seem to have noticed the relationship between the two.
