Pele was class but nowhere near Maradona, pele was a Robinho type player..... any great Brazilian team had national heroes, usually the lesser known grafters of the great teams.

Over a 1000 goals and 78 hatricks for Pele I can't see past that.
The others are great great players too I'm not denying that.

because no one is allowed to tackle him. Maradonna was better while getting kicked left, right and centre. All while he was fucked out of his gord too. I'll even throw in he never had a "Xavi" or "iniesta" next to him either(n at club or international level. Messi is king in Argentina, Maradonna is Emperor.

The game back then was rougher yes but have you seen how defenders get wound up by Messi and launch themselves at him? I think it would be unfair to say players are not allowed to touch him. He is very very good at anticipating a oppo players move and reacting quick enough to avoid getting smashed.
Some of those efforts would ruin your day if they made contact.
