I'm not so sure. Pretty much everyone knew he was going anyway, so doubt it would make much, if any, difference.

The problem is Jim we did sell him and now we have left ourselves short and open to being ripped off as teams know we need an experienced LB,can’t understand why the club knew we needed one but (even before zinchenko went ) didn’t see it as a priority which it now is,we have been caught napping unfortunately..

This is a weird take, as if football people work in a vacuum. As soon as Arsenal showed an interest in Zinchenko every man and his dog would know we needed a LB. Hell, everyone has known for years we need a new LB. There is a month left with enough options for a few games. Everyone relax. Even if Guardiola wasn't just saying the right things and really believes we have enough options at LB for the full season, I would tend to believe him.

Teams will target the weakness on our left side .

They always have, or for the last few years anyway. Even with a left back unless they have Walkers recovery speed ( they won’t ) it will still be where teams target getting in behind us. Not to say a left back won’t gives us a bit more protection.
