You've fucked up now, haven't you?

@Lavinda Past @DATOIA get at him!
Thank you mate for mentioning my name, as defending Jack and his legacy - is my holy duty :DD

Well.. what can be said, people have two eyes, two ears and still.. can't see and can't hear.

Jack is super player and talent, otherwise he wouldn't be playing for City. But Jack needs time, he is like a good wine, he gets better with age and doesn't turn into vinegar... For example, there are players, who age differently and year-by-year we can see - how they decline.. Jack is different, his prime years will be 30-35, so let's fasten the seatbelts and enjoy, cause the next decade is about Jack and his N10 and legacy he will leave behind..

And let's also mention this CucuFukincRella guy.. If Zinchenko costs 30m, his value must be 15m at max, cause Zinchenka is far better player..

I like that Sosa guy more and has more adequate price attached to him as well..

I agree we would be better with a natural left back, all I am saying its not a disaster if we have to go with what we had for full backs last season
Sorry, but I wholeheartedly disagree. Sterling & Jesus forced our hands by not signing extensions, but with Torres also leaving, I get the feeling that this squad has gone as far as they can take us, & to remain ahead of the chasing PL pack & to land the elusive Champions League title, we need to move on, freshen up & improve our squad.

I honestly believe Zinchenko leaving for more regular football, with Cucu & one of Raum & Sosa arriving for a net spend of circa £60m, we'll be far far stronger in the tighter games against the Dippers, Chavs, Real & PSG etc.

Those fine margins will make all the difference in the biggest matches where victory means we're a step closer to silverware.

That's my point. Square pegs in round holes & no specialist LB's since Mendy, Kolarov & Clichy.

It's been a perennial issue for City over the past 6 seasons & it's high time we stopped with the mend & make do approach to filling a position which has constantly caused us grief & has never been properly resolved.
I can clearly remember loads on here weren’t big fans of Kolarov and Clichy. Also Mendy before his move to prison was by many seen as another Micah Richards.
Delph did a good job. Zinchenko even better. Cancelo as well with another aspect to the left side.

We should be recruiting Cucurella or any other LB good enough to compete before we sell Zinchenko. I’m sure the lad wouldn’t mind if the deal is blown off in the end. I’m sure I wouldn’t. But if we are sure about getting in cover, I think the club won’t stand in Zinchenko’ s way and leave the final decision up to the player. It’s how we treat our players and that is part of why players like to come to us. Among other guarantees obviously.

However if we sell Zinchenko before getting a LB in we put ourselves in a vulnerable position. I like to think Txiki knows that.

Sancho was overvalued and rated just like Grealish, like White, like Maguire, like Kane and guess what they are all English.

Why do you think people are amazed at the price for Kalvin Philips? 45m for a young , full English International, that's a reasonable and sensible price for a very good footballer.

A Spanish version of Grealish would be less than half the price.
Like anything in life, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Pep believed he was a player who could improve us,and we were in a position to afford the none negotiable fee,so the deal got done.

Its almost a fantasy world, the money being thrown about for players now does not equate to anything other than what it takes to get them through the door. Its up to the accountants to balance the ins and outs.

Is Cucurella 'worth' 50m? i'd say not...but thats what its gonna take, apparently.

Get this over the line and we will go into the new season in a fantastic situation, probably our most balanced and fluid looking squad.

Square pegs will have been addressed and hungry young blood will be raring to go.
If we bring in a top quality LB, in my opinion it's our finest summer ever.

It's incredible the sums we have banked, quality and potential bought.

Txiki is getting better and better, I hope the tapas in Manchester is up to standard and the little fella stays another decade.

Last couple of seasons I’d honestly say Cancelo’s better on the left than the right, even if he’s a right footed RB. You’re right we dicked around getting a proper LB for too long, but what we’ve got works (assuming zinny stays).
Agreed to a degree. Yes, Cancelo seems a far more effective LB than RB.

HOWEVER, I still strongly contend we need two specialist LB's & to stop with the square pegs in round holes, mend & make do approach to our squad.

I don't get why LB doesn't reflect the specialist quality & strength we have across other defensive positions. )(

I think we can agree that prices in general have risen to the extent that few players actually appear to be ‘great value for money’

Maybe you will be right in your assessment/value of Grealish. I’m expecting bigger and better from him this season, ala a lot of our signings in their second season.

Without a doubt. Txiki won't allow Zin to leave unless a replacement just needs to pass a medical & sign. Even then I reckon all will be delayed as we've seen so far in this window until we've got our guy in & everything is sealed for the departing player.

We just need to get Cucu & one of Raum or Sosa in for a net spend of £60m & we'll have a brilliantly balanced squad & our best window since 2011 imo.

I agree, we need a legitimate left back and if we pay £45m+£5m or £50m, it doesn't matter, let them spin it how they want.

I get the argument about Cancelo, but he's a right footed player, playing left back.

With us selling Torres, Sterling and Jesus we have lost a lot of width and i think with us playing with a genuine centre forward that will mean the fullbacks having to provide width and crosses on their natural side.

This lad looks a good defender and puts in a good cross with his left foot.
We have the money, so just go and get it done City!
Agreed, personally I think this deal is taking way too long. Brighton have set their price either City pay it or walk away. They should have other options too.

The fact that we haven't had a proper LB at the club for 4 seasons is already incompetent.

Zinchenko is a great passer and has excellent ball retention, defensively hes not at the Level of top LB. Cancelo has great creativity but is very lackadaisical with his passing and concentration. Cucurella excels both offensively and defensively.
I wouldn't complain if we fail to sign Cucurella or another top LB, I'd still expect us to win the PL and the domestic cups, champions league however is a different story.

The prices are crazy but there is still great value and we have been incredibly lucky or more rightly smart in the players we have bought.

My issue is when your spending 100m on a player, they have to succeed and as said previously, the mental effect of those type of fee's is enormous and again as we have seen, not many of the huge transfers have been successful.
