Probably get slated for this but it’s time to have a real conversation about 93:20blue, I understand people get stuff wrong but what has he actually got right? Neymar signing, “Cucuarella signed”, “Pep signed” and if you go back there’s so many misses. Not having a go at the lad but all I’m saying is in future he really isn’t a top source for me, there’s a lot lot more wrongs then rights and I can say that without being rude or anything just a fact.

No need to do that.

We break the bank for a player didn’t and STILL don’t need - freakish 100 mill? what the fuck! and won’t pay half that for a position desperately needednot filled since....I can’t remember, Mendy?
Pep will get some midfielder and crowbar him in to full-back? the man is stubborn beyond belief and we know it but never say it - break the bank for a left back ffs!
IN-CRED-I-BLE !!

Completely different and such a shit argument. We spent 100m on fucking Grealish (someone I’m defending in the player thread) so I don’t think because 5 years ago we got it wrong with Mendy it means we won’t ever buy a left back again or pay the money to. We’ve had many success stories since Mendy or is it only that position which is an issue?
Full backs are cheaper. Grealish was half the cost of the most expensive player in his position. Mendy was the most expensive. Cucurella would be about 10-20% off the record.

I’m not sure Grealish is relevant (still an outlier when looking at our business).

It seems you are angry with yourself for being gullible and taking some random blokes comments on the internet as gospel.

Might be best if you keep an eye only on the official website.
I was gullible, especially the pep imminent extension

I do think Cancelo is hugely underrated by some fans. Probably because when he’s poor, he’s proper shite. But there’s no full back in the world I’d take over him when he’s on top form.

Cancelo's been criminally underrated on here. Same as Gundogan before 2021 and Rodri before 21/22.

Compare Cancelo's and Cucu's defensive stats and tell me how Cucu is supposed to be the better defender (for a high-pressing Pep system anyway). Plus Robertson's stats:

Take a key defensive stat such as interceptions: Cancelo 59, Cucurella 30, Robertson 23 (!).

Or successful 50/50s: Cancelo 56, Cucurella 28, Robertson 13(!)

Or aerial battles won: Cancelo 57, Cucurella 40, Robertson 26 (!)

And the comparison of defensive stats may not be fair to Cancelo because Brighton do a lot more defensive work than City due to having a lot less possession than City.

No one who comments on this forum is privy to the exact science.....Some,who post in good faith, know more than others, but most know fuck all.

The hysterical Twitter imports are doing the forum no favours.

You only have yourself to blame if you take anything as fact.

LOL Sanchez's legs had gone at Arsenal, we dodged a huge bullet not that I don't think we played the raggys in a very naughty way.

He was averaging a goal or assist every 150minutes mid way into the season he left. 30 goals and 15 assists the season before. Pep had managed him before and would of bought him if United didn't offer bigger wages and a player in exchange. Alexis said he regretted moving to United after the first training session. Wenger and Guardiola get much more out of attacking talent than Mourinho.

I'm genuinely a little gutted about this one if I'm honest. We clearly need a LB and hopefully Txiki has a plan!

Alonso is off to Barcelona, Emerson is crap and Chelsea have been trying to shift him for years, and yeah Chilwell is just now returning from doing his ACL. Cucurella wouldn't have been a signing I'd have gone for as we have other priorities but it's a not a signing that's hard to understand. Lovely player to watch.
Didn't know Alonso was off to Barca, makes sense then.

To be fair to Brighton selling cucurella for huge profit and bringing in angelino with some of the profit is brilliant business. Very well run club
You guys haven't been very fair to Brighton's leadership for much of these 1000+ pages, but we'll accept the compliment now ;)

I expect Brighton are releasing news of a deal with chelsea so that "oil rich City" have to cave in. No way, we stick to our offers and if its not good enough or the man himself doesnt want to make it happen enough then we dont need it.
Absolutely, i can't for the life of me understand how some here don't see the far reaching consequences of just caving in to whatever a club wants us to pay...
