Fair enough you are entitled to your opinion but you are not addressing your post "he isn’t a left back. Let’s get real here" . You may want a different left back, fair enough, nevertheless the real fact is, he has and is a Man City left back, like it or not, so get real on that fact.

It’s quite sad people have this fixation that Zinchenko isn't a left back because he has been converted to the position relatively late in his career.

You could say the same thing about Evra, Coentrao and Roberto Carlos.

It is about attributes not natural position and it is easier to coach defensive attributes than attacking or technical aspects of the game. I'd have a spot for Zinchenko in the squad as long as he wants to be here and he is capable of competing to be part of the rotation in one or more of the following positions: LB/LW/LCM.

I love Zinch but he only very rarely stops a cross from coming in.

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to have four fullbacks next season, with 5 subs and all. It's all up to how Zinny feels when a fullback arrives this summer.

He also very rarely plays well against the best teams and best players.

Three that stick out were the EFL Cup final v Chelsea where he was poor, the Community Shield v Liverpool where he was poor and the FA Cup semi v Liverpool where he was poor.

He’s got passion and desire in abundance but you can see against the best that he’s not a specialist left back.

Zinchenko is a great servant and one of those who plays above his quality and does it well! I'd love to keep him regardless if we sign Cucurella. His heart and work rate out performs most lbs in the league.

Zinchenko is our version of Trent. He's great against teams where we have all of the ball and we want to double up out wide or invert to move the ball. However, when up against world class wide players he is defensively a liability. Would hope with our pulling power we could improve but definitely one to have about if he is happy with a bit part role.

Oh I’d keep him for sure. Players like him are invaluable when you’re going for multiple trophies.

I’d also bet Zinny doesn’t want to leave either. He’d probably get more games next season with five subs, even with Cucurella joining, than this season.

Cancelo is our Alexander Arnold version.
