Yep - we signed him up to a six year deal in summer 2017
He’s still got a year to run!
I’m not talking about the off field stuff…. He’s been an atrocious signing on it thoYep - we signed him up to a six year deal in summer 2017

He looked very good early on, a machine but downhill there on, injuries done him on the pitch. For many reasons…. Mendy is probably the worst deal we have done in the Pep era…. Looked a good signing when he came in but…
Well he looks like himRemember when we signed Zaba to replace Corluka and most were of the opinion WTF have we done losing an international RB and signing someone from Espanyol
Hope this lad is as good as Zaba
Fair enough you are entitled to your opinion but you are not addressing your post "he isn’t a left back. Let’s get real here" . You may want a different left back, fair enough, nevertheless the real fact is, he has and is a Man City left back, like it or not, so get real on that fact.

What with a wig onWell he looks like him
We've got no chance of making a chant for this lad.
Walker, Canceloo, and Zinchenko still haven't got a chant,
It’s quite sad people have this fixation that Zinchenko isn't a left back because he has been converted to the position relatively late in his career.
You could say the same thing about Evra, Coentrao and Roberto Carlos.
It is about attributes not natural position and it is easier to coach defensive attributes than attacking or technical aspects of the game. I'd have a spot for Zinchenko in the squad as long as he wants to be here and he is capable of competing to be part of the rotation in one or mor of the following positions: LB/LW/LCM.
Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to have four fullbacks next season, with 5 subs and all. It's all up to how Zinny feels when a fullback arrives this summer. It’s quite sad people have this fixation that Zinchenko isn't a left back because he has been converted to the position relatively late in his career.

He also very rarely plays well against the best teams and best players.I love Zinch but he only very rarely stops a cross from coming in.
Zinchenko is a great servant and one of those who plays above his quality and does it well! I'd love to keep him regardless if we sign Cucurella. His heart and work rate out performs most lbs in the league. He also very rarely plays well against the best teams and best players.
Three that stick out were the EFL Cup final v Chelsea where he was poor, the Community Shield v Liverpool where he was poor and the FA Cup semi v Liverpool where he was poor.
He’s got passion and desire in abundance but you can see against the best that he’s not a specialist left back.
Oh I’d keep him for sure. Players like him are invaluable when you’re going for multiple trophies.Zinchenko is a great servant and one of those who plays above his quality and does it well! I’d also bet Zinny doesn’t want to leave either. He’d probably get more games next season with five subs, even with Cucurella joining, than this season.Oh I’d keep him for sure. Players like him are invaluable when you’re going for multiple trophies.
i see you didnt have a go ;)I want him at City just to see how many different ways his name is spelt on here
Cucumbrellai see you didnt have a go ;)
Cancelo is our Alexander Arnold version.Zinchenko is our version of Trent. He's great against teams where we have all of the ball and we want to double up out wide or invert to move the ball. However, when up against world class wide players he is defensively a liability. Would hope with our pulling power we could improve but definitely one to have about if he is happy with a bit part role.
