Guessing just like everyone else. 1. Maybe we’re waiting on the Sterling sale? Or on Ake to decide if he wants to stay at City, and or Chelsea to make an offer for Ake. Doubt we’ll buy Cuckoo if Ake stays. If Sterling and Ake both go to Chelsea, think City will make their move with money in the bank, and a defender short.

They wouldn't get a bid until we had the money from the Sterling and Ake sales (as we seem to be going for zero net spend this window).

I'd be much more interested to know whether BHA have been approached by us to be given permission to speak to the player regarding personal terms, and whether or not they have given us that permission or not.

That would be much more revelatory, IMO.

We won’t need permission from Brighton. We would have already talked to the agent and personal terms would have been pretty much sorted. Every club works like this these days.

Can I just say, this is the biggest load of rubbish going. If we turned down an offer then he would have either said so or said nothing. If you listen to what he says then you will notice he makes it clear that we don't want to sell but if a bid comes in that matches the bid in his head he will accept it. If as you say we can't be seen selling our best player then he would just say he isn't for sale no matter what (after all he is a liar according to you).

Lets make something clear, he has owned Brighton for 13 years and never done what you said and we have been in this situation several times before and its gone both our way and not our way.

Cucurella deal should accelerate with Sterling and Ake deals edging ever closer.

Brighton are already looking for replacements for Cucurella , so I don’t think it will be long before we make a move for Cucurella. Bloom’s comments look positive with him hinting that Brighton would allow the player to leave should an acceptable bid for Cucurella come in.

Cucurella seems to love life at Brighton but a move to City would be too good to turn down as he has said in interviews. I also think him liking that Instagram post could be a subtle hint to his arrival.

I think I would be surprised if Cucurella is not a City player come the end of the window.

agree! He’s one of the most important cogs long terms in the new system, he’s needed. Positive is that Cucurella started preseason on Monday so he’s ahead in fitness.

Hope this picks up over the weekend. Feels like the only thing left is which player Brighton wants, OR the fee gets to 40-45+ add ons
