Can I just say, this is the biggest load of rubbish going. If we turned down an offer then he would have either said so or said nothing. If you listen to what he says then you will notice he makes it clear that we don't want to sell but if a bid comes in that matches the bid in his head he will accept it. If as you say we can't be seen selling our best player then he would just say he isn't for sale no matter what (after all he is a liar according to you).

Lets make something clear, he has owned Brighton for 13 years and never done what you said and we have been in this situation several times before and its gone both our way and not our way.
The reasons I explained bud. Higher expectations from the fans, still trying to sell season tickets.

I get your point that he’s been there 13 etc, but things change. I reckon last season was the first time he’s seen the side booed off at home after drawing…

Im realistic to the fact he will be a City player this season. As i said before i take it as a compliment a big club like City want him. Hopefully we cab get a replacement in. In response to @pride in battle he is better going forward but still a excellent defender who tfacks back with alot of pace. He did ay some games as a CB, but his strength is on the left as a wing back.

Out of intrest it looks like Ake is going, how did u rate him, to me he never looked good enougj for you and was suprised when u signed him
Has struggled with injuries but finally looked a dependable defender at the back end of last season.
With Van Gaal stating to Timber that if he goes to utd as a squad player he won't make the Dutch squad think Nathan was worried about game time.

NOOOOOOOO you so don't understand him.a few years ago we had Sami Hyppia as manager. The plan was to get to the play-off in the Championship. By Christmas we were fighting relegation fans calling for him to be sacked. The board gave him the dreaded backing stating stats (hes lives by his stats and odds) say we should be higher up the league. Hyppia offered his resignation, Bloom turned it down (despite fans wanting him gone) a couple of games later nothing changed in terms of results again Hyppia offers his resignation and Bloom reluctantly accepts. Then offers Hughton a job and the rest is history.

Our expectation is driven by Bloom himself. He says our aim is to become a regular in the top 10. Saying there hasn't been a bid if there has doesn't affect that. Our expectation in this is if you offer whatever the acceptable amount is then we will accept it,

Ake: never going to get in front of fit and in-form Diaz, Stones or Laporte… so was an odd move and he’s had his fair share of injuries which has hampered his ability to state his case. For me always looked a little small to be a modern day centre half but he mostly did a good job when required. If the quoted £50M is true then like sterling it represents great business as we could easily get a defender in for cover

Are you saying Cucrella featured at CH sometimes for you guys ? Thought he was excellent at home/away last season against city
Yes he played about 5 games as a CB, in a flat back 4, he did ok, but imo was waisted in that posisition.

I know it’s our forum, and that’s the difference, but some of the Brighton fans are only posting what we are saying about Chelsea and Ake or Barca and Bernardo.

As to the lying thing it’s probably what I mentioned earlier….

Formal and informal bids are not the same thing.

Buying clubs test the willingness of the selling club to sell.

So let’s take the @mattyb info to start with. City might ring Bloom up and say how about cash and a player? Bloom says we just want cash.

City have then done exactly what Mattyb has said but Bloom does not consider it a formal bid as he is waiting for a cash only offer and says they haven’t received anything.

Nobody is lying. It’s context and interpretation.

I don't think it's a guarantee he will be joining us. There's a good chance he will but if City and Brighton aren't close in valuations, City have walked away from deals in the past so we will see. The money from the sale of Sterling may encourage us to be more aggressive though.

On Ake, he's always been a back up really. I like him but he's not going to be ahead of Stones, Dias and Laporte, so if we get a £50m bid, I can understand us taking it and reinvesting it to improve the overall squad.

I think Brighton are a reliable goalscorer away from challenging for the European places. Good recruitment and an excellent coach, all the stats in the last couple of years or so seem to bear that out, as well as the eye test.
They could target some very good players with a £45-50m windfall. Suppose it depends if they value Cucurella’s potential contribution to that goal next season as being higher than what they could do with the money.
Still think it gets done, probably at a little bit bit more than what we want to pay and a little bit less than what they would want in an ideal world.

Ok bud, it’s all a matter of opinions

Let’s be honest he is readying you for the move
He is letting you lot know were coming and trying to make out your getting a top deal (that’s up to opinion).
If I was you lot I’d be looking for kabore, delap or mcatee as part of deal or on loan
If your not careful by the time you get your £50m Southampton will have taken them all

A bid being rejected or not is a matter of fact. You obviously have built up a reputation but you must be wrong occasionally. I don't get what Tony Bloom gets by denying he had rejected a bid Wednesday (or whenever it was) when it seems odds on you are going to pursue Cucurella anyway.

I agree Yesterday was about getting ready for the bids to start. Denying a bid had been turned down though makes no sense.

I think we would be up for some youngsters if they were thrown in, especially Mcatee as we had an £8m bid turned down for him in November.

I think the whole big thing is a bit of games
Look at Phillips fee
Official bids are old school. It’s just. Conversation to agree then a bid
Look At grealish
Clearly delayed to allow Leon Bailey Danny ings and buendia signings to be made

I have never looked too much into your transfers (never had too, and most likely never will have to again) but I thought you paid Grealish buy out fee?

He has had his head turned by City interest and the Catalonia connections will increase the desire to move in my opinion.
I understand Brighton fans being upset with our supporters but Manchester City in todays world is a much bigger attraction that it was in the olden days.
As for the Albion fan that posted on here that he is staying put because his wife has just had a baby is a nonsense excuse in my view.
We will see what happens over the next few weeks

Hallefuckinglujah.

It can also be of course that City mention a figure to the agent who takes it to Bloom as opposed to us placing an official bid.

Hopefully with Undav we have the goalscoring problem sorted. The thing is we dont pay good wages compaired to other mid table clubs, we have lost players because they are offered more with another club.
