If true Chelsea will gazump us and pay for what Brighton . End of the day we can say we have stuck to our guns and walked away which will probably get a pat on the back and well done for about 10 mins then we realise we are screwed because we haven’t got a left back and the season is starting . Ridiculous decision to even think about letting a left back go without having one come in never mind actually selling one . We have had a great window which could be undone with one bad decision .
We have dropped a major bollock here letting Zinchenko go before having a left back signed up. Especially given how we’ve struggled to buy a left back for the past few seasons. Makes no sense whatsoever.

We should have had this position wrapped up by the end of June, not struggling to buy one a few days before the season starts.

Even less chance we get involved now if Chelsea are involved. They’ll have a clear run and will probably pay the £50m.

Good luck to Brighton if they get it, it’s a crazy fee that nobody should be stumping up but Chelsea may well do it to flex a bit IMO.

Hah!

That’s probably the best solution for all parties now mate.

Clearly we aren’t going to meet your valuation, and you aren’t going to budge - so Cucurella to City is dead - but you’ve got a disgruntled player who clearly wants out.

If you can get the full value from Chelsea - or most of it, and a very good player in Colwill going the other way - that’s good for you and good for Cucurella.

We’ll move on - we always do in these scenarios. It’s important to our Club not to be seen as a soft touch for greedy owners, so we will definitely consider it a win on that basis. Some will be frustrated, sure - but our owners have plenty of credit in the bank!

As long as we bring a quality alternative in, I’m good with that.
Yeah could work out in a way where everyone 'saves face' considering the media mess this has caused.

Chelsea are not nearly as an attractive destination as Man City but I think the transfer request means he's gotta commit to going somewhere and I guess there are worse places to end up ambition wise.

Also my two cents on Zinchenko, people saying he should've stayed until a signing was brought in but cmon man, its an attacking midfielder playing at LB who was so average that Cancelo had to move sides in order to stop Zinch playing so often. City did well to get £32m imo, only need to spend a bit over that to get an actual good LB!
