Pep may have been interested (I have no idea on that) but Pep being interested in a player doesn't mean they've suddenly turned world class after 12 months...

We know Brighton value him at £50m and fair do's - you can stick any price tag on any player you want but price is not the same as value - it would be a huge risk for us at £30m but an insane risk at £50m IMHO

Your post is more insane than thinking a quality left back, at 24 years of age and years on his contract, being bought for 50m being insane.

We bought Phillips for 42m a player out for most of last year and had a good year the year before. Two years older and primarily brought in to be Rodri’s back up. Seems we pick and choose when we want to penny pinch

don't care what brighton value him. your greedy club can try whatever they can to distort and destroy the market with unfair and ridiculous valuations. city is a a properly run business and we do not plan to be like brighton we have a sustainable long term model. everything works on our valuation and nothing else.

Bang on the money there, can Stones Laporte and Ake cover fullback? Yes they have done it but hand on heart has anyone thought fuck me how good was that they should play there more often. Not heard that once myself. Would they even be happy doing it? Probably not. I thought we needed a left back before we sold Zinc. A sound defender but now even if we put a square peg in a round hole with Ake or Laporte we could do with one who can get forward in wide areas.

The problem isn’t necessarily that we won’t pay the fee as we aren’t aware of the full asking price, the problem is we have arsed about for too long deciding he is too expensive if that is where we are at.
