It's curious how the player and the agent immediately found a deal with Chelsea after we pulled out. The whole narrative, "He only wants City" and he build a wall in Jerusalem for us is a bit silly. Based on the last few years, we performed out of this world with 90% of our team playing in every possible position on the pitch.

Yeah, it would have been cool to see him, but one good season, and statistics are not enough for a valuation which now is at 50-55+ all of a sudden. We have an academy for a reason, and as proven in the past our recruitment is one of the best of the world. If our team thinks we should not pay x amount, we should not. I'm sure we'll find a left-back, and if not, get ready for Jack Grealish at Lb for your seasonal Pep Madness.

Market is fine. Clubs will pay what they feel a player is worth to them. We have shown this numerous times by walking away from deals that we thought were poor value.

The fee is getting higher and higher by every interaction, it's almost amusing. It's clear the intention to do clear business is not there. Imagine asking for 70M for Cucurella? Is he the second coming of Lahm?

Quite simple really. We value players on what they are worth to us. That may extend beyond their actual value as a football player. Brighton want more than 50M.

Probably partly a reason we pulled out. Pep would have wanted him in ASAP and if Brighton think they can hold teams hostage and make them wait for weeks then that's not gonna happen with us.

Brighton through naylor have always said they want more than they got for white. I suspect they will do the deal around £55m. The cb from Chelsea is a separate transaction.

IMO we had a need for a RB to backup Walker. Cancelo was premier league left back of the season, and despite now not being good enough according to some issn extremely good player at LB.

On form Cancelo is a great player but when not he is shocking and playing at LB means Walker plays too many games and is running on fumes at the end of the season
