Could be an option to Gago and Flamini. Italian right-back Marco Motta has confirmed that last night’s Coppa Italia clash with Catania was his last appearance for Roma before completing a loan move to English outfit Manchester City.
The 23-year-old was handed a rare starting shirt by Claudio Ranieri at the Olimpico as the Lupi booked their place in the semi-finals of the competition with a 1-0 victory.
But Roma and Udinese, who co-own the former Italy U21 captain, have already agreed to loan him out to Roberto Mancini’s side.
Motta is expected to travel to Eastlands in the coming hours and bid an emotional farewell to the Maggica faithful after yesterday’s encounter.
“I want to thank everyone for these months I spent with the Giallorossi,” he told LaRoma24.it.
And when asked if he had truly made his final appearance for the club, he added: “Thanks again, see you soon…”
