nice piece of work, harried the defender, won the ball back on the byline and poked it to the striker who ran 20 yards the other way with the ball and fucked it up.

That would be none other than Liverpool's newest striker.

They've stopped passing to Lopes for the moment (he has been taking up decent positions, as well, before someone asks).

Looked eager but lost possession several times when trying to take on his man. Passing was inconsistent but did track back well. Put in a great freekick at the end of the match that was wasted by Lille's forward players.

He'll learn and grow.

he will, it's going to be a tough curve for him because I feel, on what I saw there, that he'll have to step up and end up being the man to give them the spark this season, which could be fantastic if he can adjust and step up but there's a lot of risk as a result and it could be tough for him.

His decision making will improve but I also feel some of it was down to him having to try and make something happen as everyone else was resorting to hoofing it across the pitch and hope it jammied to a tap-in like the rags do.

Honestly I think a dour team that forces him to sink or swim in a big way will be nothing but good for us. We should find out a lot about him and his mentality this season.

Sorry if already linked - ran across this iso vid from Rony's nice game against Israel in the U19's a few weeks ago -

Needed to make a quicker decision here... Let the ball run away.

Lille can't string 3 pass together

From what little I've seen of Origi, Lille must be pissing themselves that they've managed to get so much off Liverpool for him, he looks bang average
