Marcos Lopes

Lille look pretty rubbish, they struggled to even pass it amongst themselves against 10 men. On the plus side, it can't be too long before our lad is starting games, but it's going to be hard for him playing in a side that keeps the ball so badly and doesn't seem to have any width

This all day. He was a bit nervous at first but he did create the pass that led to the penalty. Manager seemed to lay into at the end of the game. I honestly felt bad for him out there.

It wasn't audible during the broadcast but Lopes was moved to the wing towards the end of the game and he lost the ball a few times (frankly the entire team was poor in this regard) and they cut to Rene Girard screaming at him.


It's still early days and hopefully he gels, he can easily start in this squad. Lille's starting XI is entirely too defensive and their playmakers are too selfish. Origi and Mendes want to take everyone on and Kalou is often isolated. Lopes looks like the missing link.

As for ability,i see more of a Sanchez type player,hopefully anyway! personally,the jury is still out as far as his potential can go.

Marvin Martin injured his hamstring and won't play against Porto. That certainly improves Rony's odds of starting. We'll see.

On the bench today, so Denayer is the only starter. :)
 
Very nice take on, late in the game. Even though he's still getting used to this team, I think he needs to start. 3 games this season and only 1 goal from this team that was created by his pass and led to a penalty.
 
Rony was good yesterday but Lille's coach is stupid ... We need him to start

We played 3 last games with 3 pure defensive midfields who are very bad technically. We create nothing ! Pathetic 1 goal in 3 match.
