Mario - I'll walk off pitch if faced with racism

I would hope everyone would support mario or any other player who walked off.

Aside from the racism do we not hear about the potential for hooliganism before every tournament. It is as if the media wants it to occur at times.

I went to Kiev and the police presence after the game was incredible. I dont like tarring all people with the same brush. The kiev fans were superb after and during the game.

After the game ,similar to Blackburn, they walked alongside the pitch past the City fans clapping our support and throwing Kiev scarves into the City end. This went on for about 10 mins.

During the game we were stood right next to the Kiev fans. We were slightly raised above them, but within touching distance, and they were shaking our hands, complimenting City and passing over home made hooch they had brought to the game.

Those fans are deserving of the Euros. Yes there was a couple of idiots. But should all the good people be punished for the actions of the minority and like you said things around this time get sensationalised. I think there will be a lot less incidents than France 1998, Belgium 2004 or Germany 2008

Lets face it, there are many clubs in this country know for the racism of their fans and unfortunately it happens at City too, so we need some perspective, thankfully the situation is a million times better than it was.

However Uefa attitude is a disgrace and if there is Racism from fans then players and the teams should walk, its the only way Uefa will do anything.

Why should someone take abuse just because of the colour of his skin.

No they shouldnt take abuse I do agree with that. For the idiots though, would them walking off be a loss or a victory to brag to there mates how they got a matched abandoned.

Like most ills at football, its pretty much a reflection of society itself. What will actually change societies perspectives will be by being influenced and immersed with other cultures, what a football tournament will bring.

That part of the world was a very closed society uptil 22 years ago. They havent experienced the fusion of cultures like the UK and like most people they are scared of change and fear the unknown.

I promise i'm not stalking you but you're not suggesting that if Balotelli does walk off in those circumstances, it will even be remotely anything to do with getting the chance to brag to his mates about having a football match abandoned?

Ok im starting to be scared of posting. No I think it will give the idiots who have shouted the abuse the opportunity to brag to their mates. Which will probably exacerbate the problem as other like minded idiots will try to seize the same slice of 'glory'.

I certainly wouldnt criticise Mario if he walked off and he is more than entitled too, nobody should have to put up with it. Just not sure it would help.

This is UEFA, fine for late on to pitch was greater than fine for monkey chants. The racism will not even have been considered when awarding the tournament

That's fair enough.

The fine levied against Porto for racism was less than the one on City for being a minute late That sums up UEFA's stance
