Mario or Edin?

Awful thread. Why choose when we have both. Still, to assess:

Balotelli is a player who works with flair. Can beat a man with skill and pace. Inventive thinking and has some great movement when looking to attack. Great finisher (1st vs. United) and can do masterful things. Amazing for someone only 21.

Dzeko on the other hand is much more hard working. Battles with some bruisers in Centre back and is getting rewarded for this. But for someone of his height and stature, he is definitely one of the best tall strikers with the ball at his feet. Another great finisher. Probably on par with Balo, although Balo is younger so will get better. As for Heading, I'd say Dzeko is better. Could you have seen Balo score that header vs.Tottenham. I'd also say Dzeko mentality in positioning is better. Look how many chances he gets from being in the right positions.

I've also seen somewhere that Balo should be played in the big games. He mustn't have been serious. Our two biggest games this year were vs. United and vs. Tottenham. Dzeko got 6. Could anyone honestly say Balo would have scored 4?

Impossible to mark - yet Dzeko outscores him last 5 seasons by a factor of, what, 3? But alright, Dzeko is 4 years older, though Balo did get a big break at a great club at 17.
Anyway, ridiculous and annoying discussion with a lot of ignorant shit thrown about.
Balotelli and Dzeko are pretty close overall.
Dzeko's advantage right now is his mentality and experience.
Balo is probably slightly faster and better running with the ball and is a bit more agile.
Their passing is about the same, though edge probably goes to Dzeko (e.g. the biggest chance creator in the league), and he DOES have better awareness/footballing intelligence and less selfishness.
Dzeko is a better finisher.
Balo is better at set-pieces.
Balo is more versatile in a formation.
Heading probably about same.

I love both players. Both are needed. Both are doing great.
P.S. Did I say: ridiculous thread?

Mate Mario played in Seria A at a younger age where 1 nil wins are the norm. Dzeko played in Germany be serious please you think Balotelli could not score 20 plus in that league. Listen to managers and what they say. If you offered Mario up purple nose would give up 10 of his youngsters. Mario is a superstar you just dont get it because you are blinded by national loyalty. Mario is a better player.

Say Mario has a shit time in the next month, then what would you say? It's a form based opinion really. All I'm going to say is that you're comparing leagues. Well Dzeko's scored 12 this season so you can't just say he's alright or he's quite good, while saying Balo is amazing. Dzeko is a top, top striker, as is Balo.

No its a watching football for years opinion. Dzeko is a good striker. But Mario is a great striker he is the consumate forward. He has everything. If you cannot see that keep watching. Its not just goals per game that show who is better.

Ridiculous - and typical comment from someone who never really watched the BL. Go look at Top scorer lists for the Serie A and the BL for the last 20 years. ALWAYS, there are more goals scored by the Serie A scorers. When you stop talking stereotypes and myths we can talk.

No, I'm not saying Balo isn't great. But you can't say Dzeko isn't. In those first 3 games of the season, when Dzeko was unstoppable, I cannot say Balotelli has exceeded those performances yet. Maybe equalled it or just fallen short, but never exceeded. So we do know what Edin is capable of.

Yes Dzekjo has great games but every game Mario plays even when he is poor he shows greatness. You will understand. I love them both but Mario is probably the best striker I have had the pleasure of watching live.

I love Balo - I just doubt he will ever outscore Dzeko any given season. I'm sure he can equal him. He has talent to burn and is finally showing it consistently.
