Mario, time to say goodbye?

I might be open to criticism for not being remotely arsed to read any of this thread - just posting to add my opinion to what (I assume) must be the over-whelming view of CITY fans that this is a spectacularly stupid thread totally missing the opinion of fans

And to start a stupid thread at a stupid time can (IMO) only be attention seeking - wonder if the OP is someone that also moans (rightly) about the press bias - they do not need to get at CITY when we have our own fans doing it

The only thing "stupid" or "embarrassing" are the people having a go at Tolmie's Hairdoo for asking a totally valid, relevant and interesting question.

I bet any of you that this conversation is had between the board and the manager this week, if it hasn't already. Don't see The Sheikh going "Ah well. He's young. Gotta love Mario" if he loses us the fucking title with a spit or a kick or a grab.

I'd keep him for the moment, but I think the thread is the most relevant issue of today for any City fan with the ability to reason beyond 140 characters.

Well said Lee, you've got a talent for cutting through the bullshit.
For a guy who is "well-respected" on bluemoon what an embarrassing thread...

i am 100% behind Mario

There seems to be a lot of people missing the point ( unless I am? )

To me the question being posed is could Mario progress further and quick than he can here due to the fact he gets hounded on and off the pitch in the UK?

Its nowt to do with backing him or not.

Thank fuck for this^^^^^^^^^

Balotelli is an imbecile and liability. We should never have bought him in the first place. He brings great delight to the twitter generation with his retarded actio....woooby fuckin doo. Fuckwits in this country dont half love a buffoon. If I wanted to watch a fucking clown I'd go to Billy Smarts Circus.

He's not fit to lace Dzekos or Agueros boots. If Aguero or Edin get injured we are in big trouble. So well done Super Mario.

Has he done our title chances any good with his ridiculous attitude on the pitch? Ive not waited since 1968 to hopefully see us crowned Champs for it to be wrecked by that smug, self centred, arrogant delinquent.

And FFS dont give me the " he won the pen shit".
Just fuck right off!! Fell off my chair laughing. Funny shit.

It's obvious he likes starting controversial threads for the attention.

I wouldn't expect either you to have understood the actual thread.

Between you, over 25,000 posts.

Do the irony!
Yes because having so many posts determines if you understand a thread or not...

No way should we sell/swap or whatever.

When talking about his attitude alone how can you say it's not improved drastically already?

Last year he'd have a face like thunder all game, he'd throw his arms at any refereeing decision that went against him, he'd get wound up too easily by players on the opposing team etc.

This season he looks to be enjoying it more, he no longer starts throwing his arms at the ref when he gets a decision given against him/not given for him and I don't think he gets wound up to the extent he used to.

It's clear the officials and the media have it in for him and most of the stuff he gets in trouble for is when he comes on as a sub and trying to make an impact. He's received bookings for tugging someone back whilst tracking back (something which Parker or Adam wouldn't even get a warning for) and for trying to block a clearance and catching a player (again, any midfielder who commited that offence 10 minutes after coming on the pitch wouldn't get a warning for either)

He's already in the top 5 strikers in the league and he's only going to get better. His ankle injury hasn't helped him recently but after his league cup goal he went on a run of games where he started and scored in each game, both in the PL and in the Champions League.

To think we should get rid is embarrassing, he's one of the most talented footballers in the world under the age of 21 and if theres anyone who can handle him its Mancini.

Although having said all that, I think that, ultimately, the English game will drive him away so you will get your wish, and the day he leaves will be a sad day for football, a player who will be driven away from a country because of a media agenda and officials who have it in for him before he kicks a ball.

Whilst there is no dispute to the wealth of natural talent Mario has, it's a wider question.

Sometimes you have to let go the ones you love, for the good of the main parties concerned.

Mario WILL NEVER realise the player he needs to become in this country. I have reached this conclusion over the last 12 months.

His previous will continue to be raked up and as a result, his future, massively impacted.

A yellow card is the default position for every game he takes part in, justified or not, as reputation proceeds him.

As a result of the Parker incident, and the moral outrage over every cough and splutter, it is only going to get worse.

I believe a ban is warranted for the latest foul-up, and he has again let himself and us down.

I just think it would now make good sense between now and the window to stick two fingers to the system and sell him in exchange for another top class striker.

We are only delaying the inevitable IMO. Mario has become larger than the game itself in this small-minded country and his character and talent is why WE LOVE HIM.

But sometimes you have to do right by the ones you love.

I suppose we should continue to trust the powers-that-be at City, but if down to me, I would consider a swap proposal for Cavani at Napoli right this minute.

Naples, outside of Madrid, might be the only footballing town big enough to protect their own.

Totally disagree why should we get rid of the brightest young talent in the world right now. We might as throw in the title and hand the trophy to the rags right now and let the media have its way.

Utter bollox do you think that when C*ntano had his episode the rags thought for one minute considerd ushering him out of the backdoor to get him out of the limlight not a f*cking prayer.

Mario is still very young not some French journeyman heading towards the end of his career and he will learn and in time the premiership will accept him as well. I have to say reading this post the proposal irked me somewhat, but I am not prepared to rise to the bait it's obviously a wind up.

Nice try Tolmie there's one to add to the university rag mag for next month.

Leave it out mate - you clearly haven't understood the thread. He asks a valid question - is Mario's reputation making his position at the club untenable?

Firstly there was no need for another thread on this.

Secondly Mario should be allowed to learn from this but if he doesnt then we should show him the door.

His petulance on the field has started to outway his usefulness.
