Mario, time to say goodbye?

I think hes taking alot of the heat and (media) attention away from the players to be honest.

May be a blessing

You should be ashamed of yourselves!

Balo frustrates me just as much as he does you, sometimes I cant understand why he is so lethargic or seems not to give a damn.

Let me ask you would Dzeko have got the penalty or you tell me hand on heart as soon as it was won DID YOU NOT KNOW BALO WOULD SCORE? Of course we all did, who else in world football today could you say 100% will score from the penalty spot.

His ratio of shots on target from shots taken is the highest in the league his goals to shots taken ratio is the highest in the league. This lad is going to be immense for us and if it takes hard lessons like this and Mancini to sort his head out then so be it. His attitude in training his attempts at tracking back the support he has from the team shows that he is really trying now, he is a willing party in his rehab.

His heart and soul are in City and he can become one of the best players in the world, we owe it to every City player to support them to the hilt as long as they give us their all, his indiscretions are borne from him being so young, give him a break. He has the X factor to turn games to be brilliant and we cannot afford not to have him.

Come on guys lets support Balo to the hilt.

Forza CITY

wtf is this thread about, basically an over reaction from one incident that has happened, if the stamp hadnt have happened this thread wouldnt exist, get behind the player, hes young and is brilliant

I have not read every post , so this may have already been suggested, are we being sounded out for our thoughts here on what th efans reaction would be if we moved him out.
Er, no ....

I think all publicity is good publicity for the owners. In the space of 3 years we have become one of if not the most talked about club in football. We are now seen as a top 4 club. We are art of Super Sunday ! Who would have thought that !

Mario is a great player when he can be bothered and for that reason alone has to stay. I cannot understand why he wasn't in the starting line up on Sunday because he is a big game player and scores big game goals.

Having said that he has to learn that teams will target him. He has to stay away from trouble. His booking on Sunday emphasises the point. Why was he even making that challenge in ? I don't want him tackling or even tracking back. I want him up front, making runs and making things happen.

No way. Back him 100%. Stick with him through this rough patch. Show him the love next time he plays, and reap the benefits for many years to come. Has the talent and the right manager to become a legend here if we stick together and stick two fingers up to all the jealous wankers getting on his case.

Agreed.... EVERY other club in the premiership would love to have him...

Whilst there is no dispute to the wealth of natural talent Mario has, it's a wider question.

Sometimes you have to let go the ones you love, for the good of the main parties concerned.

Mario WILL NEVER realise the player he needs to become in this country. I have reached this conclusion over the last 12 months.

His previous will continue to be raked up and as a result, his future, massively impacted.

A yellow card is the default position for every game he takes part in, justified or not, as reputation proceeds him.

As a result of the Parker incident, and the moral outrage over every cough and splutter, it is only going to get worse.

I believe a ban is warranted for the latest foul-up, and he has again let himself and us down.

I just think it would now make good sense between now and the window to stick two fingers to the system and sell him in exchange for another top class striker.

We are only delaying the inevitable IMO. Mario has become larger than the game itself in this small-minded country and his character and talent is why WE LOVE HIM.

But sometimes you have to do right by the ones you love.

I suppose we should continue to trust the powers-that-be at City, but if down to me, I would consider a swap proposal for Cavani at Napoli right this minute.

Naples, outside of Madrid, might be the only footballing town big enough to protect their own.

Its a valid opinion and a reasonable question to post, but my concern is that the media attention WE, not just Mario, receive appears to be unwarranted.

It's not just when Mario takes to the field we should be concerned with, but what about the likes of Vinnie when he returns, one missed timed tackle and is he branded in the same vein as Mario appears now. Last season it was De Jong with the tackle on Ben Arfa, where he was publically ridiculed for it, but we moved on.

Whether we like it or not, having the owner and spending the money we have is what has attracted the attention from the media and Mario is just part of the circus.

I personally feel we should be using our allies in the media to our greater advantage by highlighing to the public the positives that City bring to the game. Turn the media coverage on its head and use it to our advantage for a change. You even said Sheik Mansour and Murdoch have a partnership ... lets use it and we can start by drawing attention to the inconsistencies within the FA, such as Mario's violent conduct charge and Rooney's when playing for England vs Montenegro!

Remember this ...

I understand what the OP is getting at so in my opinion he has the right to express his thoughts however, In the 38 years I have been supporting this great club I have not seen a talent like Balo. I may have my blue tinted specs on but he plays for Manchester City thats it quite simple really and as long as he does we should support him through thick and thin !!!!!!!

32 league appearances 15 goals, 48 appearances in total and 28 goals

We've barely said hello and look what he's achieved so far!

Exactly this point. Stick with him because when he matures, he will be one of the best.
