Mario, time to say goodbye?

Would be an absolutely massive mistake to get rid of him. Already as good as some of the players we could buy for 30-40m with the potential to be so much better. Too many blues are letting the media witch hunt get to their heads, although according to most of them they don't buy into media bias!

Cannot believe I saw someone suggest a swap deal with Sneijder, and to all those wanting to replace him with Cavani, de Laurentiis is a blubbering idiot and it would take far more than a Balo swap to prise him away from Naples. Not entirely convinced by him yet either despite some of the youtube gurus suggesting otherwise.

Good post TH. I'd agree with that swap deal too, suits everyone concerned. Personally I wouldn't miss the paying for petrol for everyone, turning up at colleges, buying rounds in a Wythenshawe boozer or anything else off the pitch as its all meaningless. Yes it raises a smile and yes people want to ruffle his hair in 'you loveable scallywag' kind of way, but on the pitch is where it matters and in the main, he's let himself and us down more than not.
A swap for a player who will do it purely on the pitch would make sense. Not denying Balotelli has quality, he has it in abundance but he also has a silly streak which spoils it.
Do you think this could be a goer?

It was just a purely hypothetical scenario.

Mario loves Naples, his girlfriend is from the area. Mancini loves Cavani.

De Laurentis is a crazy fuck and is demanding close to £50m, but if Mario was on the table, I believe it could be a game changer.

After all, they took Maradona to their hearts and protected him.

Manchester is too small for a guy like Mario, as is England.

It would also be a massive fuck you to the FA and media, having chased away another star.

Difference is, we have the means to bring in another. Cavani would win us the league alongside Sergio for the next three years.

Let me be clear, I champion Mario and whatever he and the club want to do, going forward.

But rationale dictates he will be chased off or will follow Mancini out the door.

Tend to agree sadly

as much as I love the guy I'd probably have to agree, that self destruct button he has could cost us dearly one day.

Balotelli is an imbecile and liability. We should never have bought him in the first place. He brings great delight to the twitter generation with his retarded actio....woooby fuckin doo. Fuckwits in this country dont half love a buffoon. If I wanted to watch a fucking clown I'd go to Billy Smarts Circus.

He's not fit to lace Dzekos or Agueros boots. If Aguero or Edin get injured we are in big trouble. So well done Super Mario.

Has he done our title chances any good with his ridiculous attitude on the pitch? Ive not waited since 1968 to hopefully see us crowned Champs for it to be wrecked by that smug, self centred, arrogant delinquent.

And FFS dont give me the " he won the pen shit".

you know you cheered just like the rest of us when he scored two at the swamp..

Stop it, any positives about Mario are just "shit" and are not to be factored into any debate about him.

Good job Utd didnt stand by Cantonna, otherwise they would have gone on to dominate football for a decade.

You miss the wider aspect.

Cantona was a player with Manchester United, and the double-standards which that afforded then, and still does now.

Cantona was no showbiz celebrity out of football like Mario is, the focus of attention.

Cantona was also considerably older than Mario in terms of life experience.

The media is a different animal since then and whilst City are fighting their own battles to gain recognition and credibility, Balotelli is a convenient stick to beat with.

Who needs enemies eh....the shit Wooney has pulled
on and off the pitch over the years, worse than anything Mario has
ever done...but we don`t hear the rags wanting to fook him off,oh no,they
close ranks and get behind their player...some blues would rather hang ours in
public.

No way. Back him 100%. Stick with him through this rough patch. Show him the love next time he plays, and reap the benefits for many years to come. Has the talent and the right manager to become a legend here if we stick together and stick two fingers up to all the jealous wankers getting on his case.

This ^^^ If the dippers can stick by a player done for racism the I will stick by a player who just needs to grow up ..

Correct, we need to know who makes these decisions at the FA,it is wide open for bent decisions, that lot are no different to Blatter and his cronies.

The guy will be one of the best strikers in the world, he is still young and still learning. We should keep him

If Mario had done half the things Rooney's done, I'd tremble to see what the threads on here would look like. Some disgraceful shit being spouted about BM as it is.
