Mario, time to say goodbye?

Balotelli's career at stake not only his City future.

I don't really care about his charachter that he bombs fireworks in casino and giving away money at petrol stations.
Half of these stories arent true anyway.

What I care is his fantastic talent, skill, physic. He has all to become a fantastic striker for years. His dicipline is horrible. It was the same in Italy.
There were not FA, English refs, English media there.
He got a lot of racist abuse that's true but a lot of abuse too for his behaviour.
He changed country, no racist abuse but even more abuse by media, opponents.
He has to change and calm down or he cant win. England, Italy, nowhere.

Mancini has to work with him on his dicipline and surely did it in the last 1.5 years but it wasnt enough. I think Mancini has a horrible big pressure to win the league and we need Balotelli (too) for that.

Balotelli is an imbecile and liability. We should never have bought him in the first place. He brings great delight to the twitter generation with his retarded actio....woooby fuckin doo. Fuckwits in this country dont half love a buffoon. If I wanted to watch a fucking clown I'd go to Billy Smarts Circus.

He's not fit to lace Dzekos or Agueros boots. If Aguero or Edin get injured we are in big trouble. So well done Super Mario.

Has he done our title chances any good with his ridiculous attitude on the pitch? Ive not waited since 1968 to hopefully see us crowned Champs for it to be wrecked by that smug, self centred, arrogant delinquent.

And FFS dont give me the " he won the pen shit".

you know you cheered just like the rest of us when he scored two at the swamp..

He didnt act like a fucking idiot at the swamp. I expect City players to be professional in EVERY match, not just when it suits him.

What an absolute abomination of a thread.
You're missing the point, it seems. TH is talking about what to do for the best, not about getting rid because of this.

You might be right. I fail to see how Mario moving on is the best for Manchester City.

I will accept, that Mario has to change because aspects of his behaviour will get him nowhere in this country.

However, the grass will not be greener for Mario and in other countries he will get the same attention in different ways. Imagine him returning to Italy? They still racially abuse him.

I don't know the man personally, but from all the accounts I have read is that he is a maturing boy, that lets himself down sometimes. He has made strides since he came here and I'd say that a 'stamp' is out of character. I dont personally think he past the point of no return, he needs more help and advice and has the right man at the helm to do so.

A move to another country, team and management will be a disastrous move for Mario and City.

only Mario will know why, but every little nudge, shove, or decision against him is treated with some massive over reaction of aggression. i personally think refs have given him the benefit of the doubt already and he could of been treated a lot worse.

Sorry but I strongly disagree that he's getting a fair deal from the ref's. He got booked once for flapping his arms after he thought he'd been fouled. His booking against Spuds I also thought was harsh. Compare both these incidents with the way several players have tackled and reacted to decisions in just recent games involving City.

Anyone saying he costs us games please remember in the FA CUP FINAL Balo was smacked in the face by Robert Huth. Please tell me what action was taken? Please tell me who won the game? Please tell me who was Man of the Match?

His ban could cost us, his sending off against Kiev cost us, his attitude on the pitch could cost us BUT I wanted no one else but Balo taking that penalty on Sunday. In those big pressure moments you need big pressure players. Balo has the self belief to deliver on those occasions (assuming he stays on the pitch).

He has made mistakes this season but at times he's also shown restraint and maturity. I'd hope we could stand by him and see that growth continue. He gets targeted - he has to learn to deal with it and the signs are that he is - I'll forgive him for occasional indiscretions. He seems like a popular member of the squad. No need to get rid for me.

I was lambasted for a thread which stated we needed further investment. I'm not saying Tolmie should be lambasted, but to get rid of Mario would be the hight of cowardice and mean we had allowed ourselfs to be bullied into letting go a player who will be truly world class.

No way. Back him 100%. Stick with him through this rough patch. Show him the love next time he plays, and reap the benefits for many years to come. Has the talent and the right manager to become a legend here if we stick together and stick two fingers up to all the jealous wankers getting on his case.
how many chances is he going to get to become this 'legend'? he is clearly a top class player but his attitude just isnt there. he could end up costing us the title.

for the good of the club i think we need to start thinking about replacing him with someone who has the talent and someone who hasnt got a screw loose. i.e cavani.

How many years has he been here? Five, six, seven - errrr 18 months. Hardly a long time.

He's a volatile character yes. He's likely to do something stupid from time to time.

Just answer this - would you have had Dzeko take that penalty on Sunday?

Imagine this - Wednesday the score is 0-1 and there's 15 seconds left on the clock. Aguero's been taken off.
Silva chips the ball over the Liverpool defence as our lone striker beats the offside trap. Who would you rather see on that one to one with Reina - Mario or Dzeko?

He'll be the difference that wins us more games than ones where he contributes to our downfall.

why just dzeko? why dont you mention aguero or silva. id have either of those two take a penalty any day of the week. and yes id have dzeko take a penalty.

All the OP is doing is suggesting a hypothetical scenario. Basically would i swap balo for cavani, for me the answer is yes. because i think it would be better for the club.

anyway, it wont happen so i truly hope balo can sort his head out.

Good job Utd didnt stand by Cantonna, otherwise they would have gone on to dominate football for a decade.

You miss the wider aspect.

Cantona was a player with Manchester United, and the double-standards which that afforded then, and still does now.

Cantona was no showbiz celebrity out of football like Mario is, the focus of attention.

Cantona was also considerably older than Mario in terms of life experience.

The media is a different animal since then and whilst City are fighting their own battles to gain recognition and credibility, Balotelli is a convenient stick to beat with.

Sorry THD, but you make us sound so small time....Naples can cope, Manchester can't???....let's start by backing him in his hour of need.

no,no,no,no,no,no.

hope that's answered the question ;)

Who needs enemies eh....the shit Wooney has pulled
on and off the pitch over the years, worse than anything Mario has
ever done...but we don`t hear the rags wanting to fook him off,oh no,they
close ranks and get behind their player...some blues would rather hang ours in
public.

And dont get me started on that 500 page thread on RAWK called " Lets get rid of Suarez, the racist ****"..

Keep him , Only learning things, will come back better. He will be targeted by others just as we thought he had got it together, though if you compare his little stamp to Rooneys incidents over the years, well the moral outrage of this stamp...seems a tad harsh to me. Also now with the cameras everywhere its a little different when players got away with the odd kick or dig.Stick together on this, support our players, and win the title.
