Mark Clattenberg

Well get Mark Halsey for the game as he was the first referee to send off Terry. It was for rugby tackling Jo on the halfway line but even though that card was rescinded.
No it wasn't. The FA couldn't rescind the card because Halsey correctly sent him off for serious foul play, not incorrectly for DOGSO as the media constantly stated, and Halsey refused to change his stance at the appeal. So the FA just rescinded the suspension anyway. So Terry wasn't suspended for receiving a red card. I think that might be a first and only event but the same relaxed treatment is often applied to many of England's wayward "stars" such as Rooney, Scholes and Gerrard.

On topic, Clattenburg is a great ref as long as the far eastern betting syndicates have all their money on City. Worth noting that the ref can only influence the result so the big money always tends to go on the favourites.*

*this isn't actually my opinion, I stole it from Prestwich, it's food for thought though

Still can't trust Clattenburg. As a previous poster suggested, his record up to the demolition derby was deplorable. I'm still having nightmares about his performance in the Blackburn game, at home, last year.

Wouldn't be expecting a whole lot of fairness at the Bridge, anyway. Clasic example: the chances of him (or any other Prem referee) booking that f**ker, Terry, as often as he deserves it, are somewhere between slim and nowt.
Could of been worst, could have been walton.

It's not conclusive I'll admit but the quotes confirm my understanding of the way it was explained at the time, was that Halsey wouldn't budge on his decision so the FA had to make amends any way they could. Just like they did with Ben Thatcher.

Sorry, thought you were saying it wasn't rescinded at all. Rather than the bent FA made sure it was.

Yeh, he was ok vs the rags, but his litany of previous anti-City atrocities cannot be dismissed. Better than Walton or, God fucking forbid, Twatwell, but I'd still rather have Mike Dean officiate all City games!

We haven't lost in something liek 18 games Clattenberg has reffed, care to revise your opinion?

Arsenal 3-0 at our place where by the letter of the law he wrongly sent Boyata off.

which law are you looking at??

as clear a red card as you'll ever see

a very strong ref to make that decision so early in the match imo

definitely a red card that was, boyata looked embarrassed at committing a tackle that stupid

We've dropped points in only one of the last eleven games he's reffed for us.

Even though we drew against Fulham this season and lost at home to Arsenal last season, both of which he was in charge

the "clear goal scoring opportunity" when Chamakh had already lost the ball to Hart.

Not a red card.
