i'm loyalist but you can see something aint right, the only question is do city give him the time to sort it out, have we even got that time?
the pressure on him and the players is immense, so blips are expected.
any change must help if only for the honeymoon period.

When you see how de-motivated Robinho and Adebayor are at times it speaks volumes for me. I just don't think he has full control and he doesn't seem to have the respect of key players. In fairness to him though he has bought well and will leave a great squad for whoever comes in (assuming the talk is true)

I'm not a Hughes inner but if Robinho and Adebayor are not motivated by the £150,000 a week and the honour of wearing the shirt, then then they are twats and don't belong at City.

And Pompey are 2-0 up. The red scouse are worse than us.

Re: How do the Hughes loyalists feel?

very sad at all this more of the fact its still typical city,i just hope that it is done for the best of the club and fans and not some rash decision that could really fook us up for the remainder of the season!

You've got to ask why they aren't motivated, though I don't think thats the case personally, I just think they are being asked to play a game that is totally alien to them. At Spurs both started really well, and for 15-20 minutes we were playing pass and move football, in fact it was very good to watch, but we didn't really create much and then went long. Adebayor is not and never will be a back to th goal knock down player, he is a play to feet player, and he just got frustrated and eventually gave up, he should have been taken off. Robinho on the other hand was still trying, he ran into space lots of times waiting for a ball played to him, but instead it bypassed him time and again, he looked our only threat to me, had we just got the ball to him. When he went off we got more possesion, because Cruz can win the odd header, but against Dawson it was a very flawed tactic for me, and to top that, if you play a tall striker (or two) you need width, and we had none all game.

Re: How do the Hughes loyalists feel?

I'm embarrassed that half of City fans want our manager fired.......we are improving, cup semi at mo, can beat the big teams (and look comfortable doing so). Consistency is still lacking but will improve as the season continues.

A win today puts uson 1 point less that Sven got us in his first half of his season.......I don't see this team collapsing as that one did.

Hughes in!!!!!!!

Re: How do the Hughes loyalists feel?

Hughes in or Hughes out, I sit on the fence (as I beleive many do) but I know that something is not right and it may be for the best if he does go, however I will not forget some of the pure venom that has been posted by the lunatic fringe on here

Like most I am a loyal City Fan and whoever is the manager gets my support, I don't actually recognise some of the lunatic fringe on here as being City fans at all, true we have always like a good moan, but never to that degree

That sums it all up for me. Some very 'out there' posts. Ashamed of some of the people on here.

Re: How do the Hughes loyalists feel?

I am sad to see peoples here and media turning around like vultures.

There are big issues to be solve within the club, but there are those who hate us and want no stability at City.
What you think a new regime will do for you?
Look at a player like Robinho, who has no work ethics and was undermining the manager and the club every step of the way. What makes you think he will perform consistently for us if another manager comes? He has his own agenda it seems, and that does not include fighting to much for the club, unlike ppl like Bellamy, or Given, or Tevez. I would rather like to see getting rid of talented ppl that do not want to play and keep continuity in the management area and the players who want to play for us and give 110%.
As a club we are on a learning curve and that means making mistakes and learning from them. This is how you learn, and grow. I wish you luck Mr. Hughes.

If you want to see a manager who lost it, look at Rafa, they just got beaten again, this time by the last team in line...

I have never been a vocal Hughes outer but I can't say I'm too disappointed if these reports are true. Khaldoon and the Sheikh been more than fair to him and up to now he has had more backing than any manager could wish for, but when it comes down to it the results have just not been good enough for a team assembled at £200 million and he just hasn't been able to reverse it. The way things have been going we would have struggled to make the top six let alone the top four which would have been the real target behind closed doors. Do all the Hughes fans feel the same now or is there anyone left who thinks he should still get more time?

We are currently 6th (with a game in hand) and in a semi-final. So I believe Hughes should still be our manager and would be disappointed for him to leave now.

Hughes: The Epitaph

Post your thoughts here:

He made mistakes and divided us. He was too ready to blame others for his own failings. He handled himself with great dignity at other times.

He signed Bellamy, Given and Tevez, three of the greatest City signings of all time. He also signed some very average players from the fringes of the England Squad. He didn't sign a single young talent. He was an agent's dream and far too narrow-minded in his transfer dealings.

His tactics ocassionally looked like masterplans. More often they looked like someone trying to have his cake and eat it. He never found the balance in the team.

We played dreadfully for most of the time, but sometimes it was incredible to watch.

He made Ireland into a hero. He refused to play young talents. He made countless quality defenders into amateurish, nervous wrecks.

He left us in 6th place, and our first semi-final in years. He left our defence in tatters.

Re: How do the Hughes loyalists feel?

Dissapointed it hasn't worked out, i like him, but won't lose any sleep.

If Hughes gets sacked, he's in the past, we move and and support the new manager.
