Mark Hughes

'Arry bought Jenas to help them avoid relegation; that decision alone tells you everything you need to know.

Hughes is an absolute fucking numpty.

They were steadying themselves in the Premier League under Warnock, who was given a fraction of the budget.

In comes Leslie, spends God knows how much, using a proven failure of a strategy - buying anyone who he had heard of from 5 years ago for lots of cash - and almost gets them relegated. Then manages to spend loads more and manages the WORST EVER start to a season in the Premier League.

No doubt he blames everyone else ever associated with QPR, other than himself. Just like he did here. The puff pieces that were still being written by his mates in the press, painting him as the driven football man battling to turn around a club messed up by someone else, against all the odds, were sickening.

No doubt written by the same bellends who he would run to whilst here to shit on anyone associated with MCFC before he got here, just to excuse his shit performance.

Redknapp had plenty of games and time to show what a great manager he is, he duly obliged?

I'm not Harry's biggest fan but for what it's worth I do think he was on a hiding to nothing after inheriting that shambles from Leslie.

When the Taffia first rolled into Eastlands under Thaksin I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt despite being absolutely disgusted by the way Sven was treated in his final months. However Hughes hadn't had his feet under the desk five minutes when he was being openly critical of the fitness regime implemented by Eriksson and Hans Backe. Poor timing to say the least but the ironic part is on reflection did at any one time City look any fitter under Hughes and Bowen than they had previously? Not for me they didn't. Added to that a general lack of class displayed by the Rag during his tenure and as you can probably gather I'm not his biggest fan, and that's before we even begin to examine his spending policy.

Granted he pulled out some absolute gems in Zabs, de Jong and Kompany but we also have to remember this is the man responsible for us signing Adebayor, Santa Cruz, Bridge, and that ultimate in bastions of footballing excellence Tal ben haim. All on huge wages. At Loftus Road he's continued his scatter gun approach in the transfer market and again it's failed him.

Poor, poor manager and those critical of Mancini should just remember had our owners not acted when they did we wouldn't have enjoyed the recent success we have been highly fortunate to be part of the last few years.

Hughes was appointed at City for one reason and one reason only, because Thaskin knew we were skint and he thought he could work better than Sven with no cash to spend. When the new owners came in they were prepared to give Hughes a chance to see how he fared, but quickly got shot when it was obvious he was out of his depth.

I believe he could have stayed on if he had got shot of Bowen and got another coach in but he refused.

Now confidence in your own ability is one thing but Hughes was blinkered and if you heard him speak he,his team and his methods were the best thing in football since they took the laces out of the casey ball.Unfortunately results here and elsewhere proved differently.

This whole fitness baloney was shown to be a pile of horseshit by the number of late goals we conceded under Hughes.

Pretty much how I see it! Well put.

I don't like Harry Redknapp, never had any time for him. The same can be said for Mark Hughes too.

For me they both must carry some of the blame for QPR's relegation, but the lions share of that blame should sit firmly with Mark Hughes.

Redknapp took over a struggling side which was already in a hole. He was able to bring in some of his own players (Remy, Samba, Townsend, Jenas etc) but he was still saddled with the prima donna, couldn't give a shit, players Hughes had managed to assemble. There's only so much you can do to try and get players motivated, and to improve a side that finds itself in trouble, and doesn't have the characters present to put in the effort to turn it around.

Hughes brought in an entire new squad of players in the summer, Ryan Nelsen, Andy Johnson, Robert Green, Samba Diakite, Park Ji-Sung, Junior Hoilett, Jose Bosingwa, Julio Caesar, Esteban Granero, Stephane Mbia and Fabio. How many of them have been even passable in terms of their efforts? Nelsen performed admirably for an old, injured player, Caesar has played well too. Other than that? Johnson (injury), Green (lost role after 1 game!) and Diakite (stress/personal issues) get a pass but the rest have been various degrees of poor.

Redknapp only managed to bring in 4 players in January that had the potential to impact the first team, and all have had a positive impact. Jermaine Jenas, Andros Townsend, Loic Remy and Christopher Samba. Yes he spent big on the latter two (too big if you ask me on Samba) but they certainly improved QPR's squad, however those new players can't make up for the overall deficiencies in the squad. Hughes spent big, on wages and fees, and built a poor squad with a horrible attitude.
