Marseille (a) post match thread

Well width is nothing without pace but having width pulled the full backs out and created the spaces in between the 5 man defence to exploit. Look at the goals, inverted wingers don't give width, they just run into traffic because the defence is so compact. I don't think we would have dominated as much if Sterling played left and Foden right.
I agree, just saying that Foden and Torres being quick was also a big benefit compared to the plodders at the weekend.

Tempo was an awful lot better tonight and a decent press. Missing an out and out striker. Defence solid. Still don't want Rhodri and Gundog together going forward. Glad garcia was benched, hopefully stays there. Marseille were poor for the most part. We should have this group wrapped up with 2 games to spare. Phil the standout.
Phil stood out, but so did Kevin.

I disagree; noticing the huge discrepancy in posts and who posts in these threads shows you that this place revels in negativity
I don't think "this place" revels in negativity, more that the posters who post in the defeat or draw threads do, I rarely post in the post match threads when we don't win because like you I can't be bothered with the negativity.

Really enjoyed the match, very tough team to beat at their place especially 3-0, good all round performance, great to see us so tight at the back - please stay fit Eric and Dias! Kev was brilliant and when we broke at pace and scored a couple of brilliant goals it was great to watch. Good formation, right players playing, happy days!

Tbf, City have just won handsomely and the first negative comment I saw in this thread was from Deano. I guess a sense of irony isn’t his strong point.
