It would give us options and that’s what it’s all about. Maybe some games we would not need both but going away to the like of real and Liverpool, a double pivot could work, it would free up Rodri to attack when the opportunity arises.

It’s easy if the intention is to play them both together, and you can explain the plan for it to work, if that’s the managers intention. If I’m Zubimendi I‘m asking how it would work and will you be the manager implementing that system?
Nobody on bluemoon has the slightest idea what Pep is planning or thinking about his midfield plans if he decides to stay.So anybody here thinking they have any idea are just guessing. I think it would work and am all for it, but that means fuck all.

It's extremely easy to have them both play together.

Just have Rodri do the Stones role, defend as a CB, then move into the CDM spot next to Zubimendi.

Rodri is clearly tall enough to win aerial as a CB.

I do want Gvardiol learning that role over Stones in the future though, he can be so good if you let attack more, which our CDM's would have alot more license to go forward than a left back.

Rodders injured, we've lost a few games....Good media guess is, we will buy in Jan because of that, has to be a 'top dm' , he almost went in the summer........don't need to be a maths genius to work that out ;).....for that reason, we will be linked with any dm who has a half decent game in next few months.

Maybe he didn’t fancy the dips. This is pep and city so a complete different animal to say no to. Add in Rodri to the mix and it’s a no brainer. Maybe the lad has had a few months to digest the situation and feels he will slot into city a lot better than dips.
