Martin Atkinson

I watched the red card incident in slow motion frame advance and a split second before the alleged Balo elbow, Skrtels elbow is about 2cm from Balo's face.

The Reina incident was handball (intentional or not) and he deserved to walk.
Sky didn't even bother replaying the Silva chance, which was a shame as it was great skill from Edin to control the ball and skin MOTM (how laughable) Lucas down the touchline.

Joe Hart was amazing today.

You have to feel sorry for Balotelli. He gets sent off just because he's Mario. Every game, he gets fouled but refs give him nothing - because he's Mario and must therefore be diving.

if it continues, which imo it will he will eventually leave having been hounded out,by various media, pundits and officals...

Sky have a lot to answer for. They showed thd "foul" by company on Suarez 5 times on replay, but the Reina one twice!! The reina one was a straight red , no question, but they didn't want to know .

He sent Rodwell off in the scouse Derby (incorrectly) and generally made a right fuck up of that game.

He shouldnt have even been near another Liverpool game this season.

is that right? - good dig if so; I hope this gets tweeted and picked up on in the press.. referees who have games like these are diabolical and should be more sensitive to allowing themselves to be influenced by the crowd because I still believe they'd want to be considered impartial and do a proper job.

TMQ's comment was absolutely right, the crowd reffed this game today, LOL

Agreed - a complete handball nearly on the half way line.

I thought the Reina one was more a case of ping pong and ball-hand; a free-kick with or without a booking would have sufficed.

had our players been schooled in the acting arts then maybe Atkinson would have booked a couple more of theirs, but then we were still playing away from home so we'd have to have jimmy-rigged the PA system or something too...

We did so well today as Atkinson booked our defensive midfielder and main centre half leaving it almost impossible for us to put a challenge in for about an hour of the match. I don't usually agree with waving imaginary yellow cards but when Aguero did it after being taken out by Skirtel it was fully justified as their players were getting away with it.

Adams also took Silva out on the halfway line and it was ignored by the ref, this may seem like just a matter of luck but when Liverpools whole game plan is based on pressure and tackling a couple of yellows would have meant they would have had to stand off more and thus giving us more time and space.

Whether Martin Atkinson was aware of what he was doing is another matter, I probably just think he is weak minded and let the crowd influence his decisions.
