Martin Demichelis (continued)

Some lads near us in the square in Barca were singing this, and we took the piss at the time! Think they were too to be honest.

Oh Demichelis you are the love of my life,
Oh Demichelis I'd let you shag my wife
Oh Demichelis you're the one for me

Kind of liking it now!

Like many of us I'm astounded by how quickly my opinion of this man has changed. He has one year left on his contract - he'll see it out at City surely now, won't he? Or with Mangala and Nastasic next season will he be surplus to requirements?

He's been almost holding our defence together of late. I don't think Vinnie has quite hit his best form yet since getting injured and Zaba is well and truly dead on his feet after doing the job of two players all season. Demichelis is bossing it right now.

Been the best centre half at the club of late, Vinnie has had a few wobbles. Im very happy Demi has pulled through some bad times to start putting in some good shifts.

Actually, i believe a shift in our tactics at the back has been to optimize MDMs performances so the manager should take some credit here.

Mick has been our most improved player in the last few months.

Is his contract up at the end of the season?

If so let's persuade him to stay on a further year even if we buy Mangala, surely the filthy lucre should be sufficient incentive for him?

Came into his own when VK got sent off v THE TIGERS(!!!) for being fouled by Jellers. He hasn't looked back since!

He will be here for two season. The only thing that will end his stay earlier is if Manuel Pellegrini leaves at the end of this season (which is highly unlikely imho) or both the player or our current manager judges that he can no longer handle the physical demands of playing at a high level.

Comfortable on the ball and solid in the tackle. Links play well, brings the ball out at speed and his passing is spot on.

All in all he has acclimatised and is a solid and consistent player for us. Well done Demi

Mentioned a few posts back but it's down to a shift in positioning

Those extra yards he is afforded are the key, big pat on the back to the coaches and MDM himself, he could be the unlikeliest of heros and I love that!!!

If we get Mangala, wouldn't be surprised if he plays second fiddle to Demi for one year.

Pellers isn't going to ditch this guy lightly - and rightly so. It may be his last season at the summit though.

This is why I never slag off City players..its can bite back..

Demichellis
Garcia
Dzeko

All these players get stick but have been an integral part in where we are right now..

So true. You can add Kolarov to that list as well. It takes around a year I think for most players to adapt, some do it quicker. Hard to believe Fernandinho was getting slagged off by some after a few games this season.

Tactical masterstroke! Kompany now plays as the deeper of the two and it is working like a charm!

Has anyone seen his reaction to Dzeko's opener against Palace? Proper clenches his fists.

Top centre of the screen at 00:44 as the ball goes in.

Great turnaround from MDM - he's looking more confident and I think that benefits the rest of the defence too

Not sure what has hapened with Nasti's injury but this seems to be dragging on for months now? I know he wouldn't get back in the team with 3 games to go but I'm not sure where his future lies if we are prioritising another CB in the summer. We know that Lescott will go so I wonder if we will have 4 centre backs with Nasti and MDM as the back up players.

I can't see this happening.

Mangala will come in and take Demichelis' position off him within weeks. He's stronger, faster, younger and exactly what we need.

reminds me a fair bit of Pepe, with a bit of Vinnie and a bit of Sakho as well, though in between Sakho and the other two in terms of ball skills.

Right I'm happy to bet anyone here £1000 that he'll be BM player of the month for April.

Not if my machine politics campaign works and Rodwell receives the nod.
