Really pleased the fans have shown their appreciation for the way MDM has performed over the last few weeks. Absolutely deserves his award, took some very unfair and mis-informed criticism during March, but has taken everything in his stride and been hugely influential for us recently.

There was nothing misinformed about the criticism: he was very poor at one point. He has, however, turned it round remarkably, and fully deserves the recognition. He must be a great pro.

That my friend, is a matter of opinion and, whilst I disagree with you on that point, we can both agree that he's been outstanding over the last few weeks.

Right you are! Now just to finish the job, which is something that experienced winners like MDM should be quite adept at.

All credit to the bloke; he's turned his performances round massively (sniff!), to the point where he would now be first choice to partner Vinnie, even if all our CBs were available.

It's strange to think that had he not joined us, he might very well have been leading the league with Atletico Madrid and anticipating a CL final. Some people in the media really should be eating large bowls of humble pie by now; Demichelis has genuine class and a pedigree that few can match, something that top managers can clearly recognize even if hacks cannot. I even heard one journalist bemoaning the fact that that Skirtel had been omitted from the team of the year. Unbelievable, unbelievable.

The fact he came out recently and pretty much admitted he was shit for us at one point sums him up as a man and as a player. Not afraid to take responsibility and sets high standards for himself. Been fucking excellent for us and I always defended him even when he was out of form, took some unfair flak, particularly after Fulham away where he was great but MOTD did a montage of the couple of mistakes he did make, even when Kompany did that horror of an own goal. Scapegoat.

Glad he has proven all his doubters wrong in the best possible way.

Demichellis, welcome to Manchester City and long may your stay here continue :D

3. Time to praise Demichelis


Martín Demichelis has been the butt of criticism at City this season, but if Liverpool possessed a player of the Argentine’s defensive discipline and nous, Brendan Rodgers’ team may now be in pole position for the title. Demichelis lacks pace, but he reads the game better than anybody else in the City back four and his ability on the ball goes unnoticed. With Vincent Kompany often breaking forward with the ball, Demichelis is happy to sit back and snuff out any danger before it emerges. As proved at Crystal Palace, Liverpool lack that kind of player and Demichelis has turned out to be a bargain buy for City.
