Use the money to improve your stadium/ infrastructure/commercial department- if you are maxed out in terms of earning potential maybe you just aren't a club that should be challenging for titles.

So the clubs without 'earning potential' shouldn't bother. Replace the PL table with the Goldman Sachs Earnings Potential Championship.

They don't give a shit about the national game at all, it just suits their own personal gains. The teams who have been mentioned were the clubs who started the ball rolling.

more ! who owns those clubs except Spurs you have 3 americans all bought those clubs not because they love football but just to make money one of them ( glazers) bought united with debts !! they didn't spend a peny ! so for them it is always nice to stay to and don't get no competition like that they can attract players cheaper and charge higher the fans and of course top 4 with champions league money

Like Ray said, they don't give a shit. It goes way beyond the past few years too. We are a huge spanner in the works of their future projections, devised pre-2008. Brilliant :)

Re: The plot to shackle City & Chelsea

Fantastic piece...... if this was Villa, Sunderland, Fulham and WBA complaining I'd say ''they have a point'' -
but the fact it is united, Liverpool and Arse - the 3 teams that have benefited most financially out of the non champions champions league, to enable them to compete on a level other PL teams cannot compete financially, plus Spurs - the 1st club to turn PLC to gain a financial advantage just makes me puke over their hypocrisy.
Plus united, Arse and Liverpool over the years gained more money via the ''home club keeps the gate receipts'' rule that again helped them to be one step ahead financially over the rest of the league.
This article is so spot on..... yes to Jack Walker, but no to his investment. Keep the status fucking quo..... know your place..... They must love Dave Whelan......

Give it up lads, we don't have earning potential so we may as well not bother. What's the point? We don't even have earning potential.

(Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon would probably differ on that!)

FFS what's up with you mancs ? Your as same as the chavs no class. Arsenal have had all there success and trophy winning exploits done by hard work and running a football club like it should be properly run. Spending what we have made through the turnstiles which is why we were able to fund our own 60,000 stadium.
Could you of done that noooo. Could you of won one poultry little title and fa cup without a sugar daddy nooooo.
We have been doing this for decades and the sour grapes come from your side of the fence because like the chavs you cannot buy history, you can try but forever in our shadows you will be.

This post has everything. It's an absolute beauty

I thought she did very well, getting almost every cliche available into the one short post.

Re: The plot to shackle City & Chelsea

What is particularly telling is the apparent source of this leak. It would seem that Richard Scudamore has the measure of these hypocrites and the impact that such a move would have on the level of competition in the league.

By the looks of things the voting is very tight on this issue, hence the letter. Has Ashley's and Kenwright's ambition for a big pay day really been sacrificed at the altar of financial certainty? More tellingly, do the aspirations of their fans now count for so little in their calculations?

The hypocrisy of Arsenal on this is especially pronounced. Without our largesse they would have barely made a profit themselves over the last few years and would therefore have struggled to comply with the very same rules that they are proposing. There is no sight of the second page of that Arsenal headed letter, but I don't imagine it mentions ticket pricing and what's best for supporters in any great detail.

This is naked self-interest writ large, nothing else. I'm only surprised that some of the other club owners, who no doubt consider themselves to be streetwise, seem so willing to lap it up. Many of the greatest con men in history have been American. That tradition still appears to be alive and well.

I can't conceive why Kenwright would support this. Everton are on the verge of a Champions League place and even a slight investment would be enough to push them into it. They made a loss this year and Kenwright has been touting the club to potential buyers for years so don't have anything to gain by voting for this proposal and, at a stroke, making it unsaleable. Bizarre.

FFP is the warped logic of the playground bully. "He's got more money than me and that's not fair on us, so we're going to change the rules so that they're no longer fair on him." Idiots.

I'm genuinely all for clipping City's wings and levelling out the playing field, giving every club the same budget and creating a situation where Wigan have just as much a chance of winning the league as United. But these fuckers aren't actually interested in what's 'fair', just in what's good for them. Well they created this monster so fuck 'em.

Re: Martin Samuel: The plot to shackle City & Chelsea

One wonders about the RVP deal in light of this. Has this collective formed an unholy cabal to stitch up the league.?
Perhaps City should cry foul on this even if not the case, to raise the profile of this situation. I believe the argument in the media is one sided, what we need is a full and frank debate. We have the argument on our side. Every time I discuss this issue with another clubs fan who trots out the usual guff I am able to get them to change their view.
Make a stink/invent a stink off the back of this and let the debate get started.
