Mary D's The Townley or another?

Places end up with little or no pubs like Bradford (the big one), the area is a classic deprivation donut and will only improve as the hole expands to subsume it, with everyone then complaining about gentrification.
I get what your saying. I think east Manchester is effected way worse for pub closures then other areas in manchester. its not just pubs near the ground. Barely any restaurants or places to socialise. I think areas need these places. I think it would be good for the community and area in general.
im hoping things change going forward, as it would actually attract me to drink near the ground, rather then town.

I used to prefer the Eastlands, I was gutted when it shut down for the final time.

I usually go in the Townley now, although it's always rammed and feels like it's 100 degrees in there.

The Manchester (formely The Crossroad) was a bit crap, imo, but it got me thinking how many pubs, from around the ground, have closed down:
The Eastlands
The Manchester
Bank of England
Mitchell Arms
Derby Arms
Champagne Charlies

There used to be a pub called The Stadium, too. Not sure if that has closed or if it's now The Bradford.

Is what was Summerbee's Bar still there in any new format?

The Kippax in Newton Heath too

The Stadium only had a couple of seasons at most, closed in 2004 or 2005, the Kippax didn't seem like it was open on other days it was so bare and must have been closed about 8 years ago, and the Spanking Rodger about 10 years ago in that Alan Turing way corridor.
