Mary D's The Townley or another?

Normally do The Townley pre-game but afterwards the Cops usually don't allow the local boozers to open so it's into town for beers with all those lovely plastic tv rags if they've not fucked off home by then.

I used to prefer the Eastlands, I was gutted when it shut down for the final time.

I usually go in the Townley now, although it's always rammed and feels like it's 100 degrees in there.

The Manchester (formely The Crossroad) was a bit crap, imo, but it got me thinking how many pubs, from around the ground, have closed down:
The Eastlands
The Manchester
Bank of England
Mitchell Arms
Derby Arms
Champagne Charlies

There used to be a pub called The Stadium, too. Not sure if that has closed or if it's now The Bradford.
The Bradford was a great pub, closed about 15 years ago, was where the new MIHP building is now.

I get what your saying. I think east Manchester is effected way worse for pub closures then other areas in manchester. its not just pubs near the ground. Barely any restaurants or places to socialise. I think areas need these places. I think it would be good for the community and area in general.
im hoping things change going forward, as it would actually attract me to drink near the ground, rather then town.
Never thought west Manchester was much good for pubs either thought we were vastly better off for pubs at Maine Rd than the rags were at OT. This was important as i would go , there to watch Lancy, remember a good pub by Trafford Bar station, but the rest were shit holes. Maybe different now as the raggies have Salford Quays to go at while we are stuck in a desert for decent pubs. It's the main reason I regret our move ,they were so many good pubs within a ten minute walk of Maine Rd
