Mary D's

To add - miss the Bank of England - now that was a shithole with character. Shame theres no real boozers with character round the Etihad like the Osborne and Gardners back at Maine Rd
I find it remarkable how few pubs there are around the Etihad. The Bank Of England and The Mitchell Arms should be two of a dozen between the ground and Town yet they’re both boarded up and there are NO others! It’s very bizarre

It’s very difficult to make pubs around football grounds pay. We are not unique in having fewer pubs around our ground. I recall a campaign to save the main pub at Wolves from closing and I think it has now gone.

Yep it has opposite the ground. Although there’s plenty others! There’s one called the lounge (something like that!) other side of the road and town is literally a 3 minute walk. Away fans finding pubs is hard at wolves though.

Make them pay by using them!

I was a Townley regular for years. Pre and post match when I stopped over whilst living away. It was alright in there.

I noticed when City were doing the cheap beer it impacted on at Mary D's.

Anyway the San Miguel on draft isnt bad.

Rarely if ever go in myself but dont see ehy theres so many complaints about it. You know exactly what you're getting with Mary D's. If you go in there expecting something different you're not going to enjoy it. For people that are looking for that kind of atmosphere it's great.

I suppose, for me at least, it just felt too much like old times, if that makes sense. As I said in my post, not a bad place, but I’ve probably grown out of what it offers.

I hope this construction project for a walkway into town flanked by bars/bistros etc and such gets the go ahead. Just the walk from town or back would be all to agreeable then.
