I will wear if the shop/business asks customers to do so , I don't use public transport . Its not a biggie for me easy either way

I will in Winter probably as it helps keep my nose and face warm.

Other than that, it will depend on the situation. I will wear it when it seems appropriate eg in enclosed spaces with large numbers of people.

What is it with people always wanting to make their own rules up?
Why do you feel you always know best?
This forum has been riddled with people getting very animated that they always know best.

The advice being given is a balanced view from people actually paid to make these decisions.
They will not always get them right, but they have to weigh up all the pro's and con's both health wise and economic.

They are saying that the vaccine rollout has been successful "enough" to allow the resumption of normal life.
They are acknowledging that lifting restrictions will result in more infections and deaths. The freedoms will come at a cost.

They are making it clear that although there are no legal requirement to distance or wear masks, they are asking us to use good judgement in situations that might still be better to do so. Cannot get any clearer or fairer than that.

We learned to live with the Flu virus even though the annual death rates are shocking.
Nobody was screaming for restrictions and mask wearing.

What is need now is tolerance from both sides. People who drop the masks need to respect people who choose to carry on wearing them....and vice versa.

So myself who will carry on wearing masks indoors to protect OTHER people has to respect people who don't give a shit about my health?

I`ll keep wearing a mask when shopping. I don`t use public transport and happy around my family but otherwise the mask is on. Let`s be fair it isn`t a hardship and I`ve got so used to it!

Still masking - I live in Washington state in the USA.

A bunch of fucking retards refuse vaccination... not so much where I live... but mostly in rural, undereducated America.
===
COVID variants are becoming more and more contagious - and sometimes more virulent.

This isn't schadenfreude at all - but, IMO, the only way to convince anti-vaxxers that vaccination is safe, effective and socially responsible - is, well, for a virulent strain of some disease to spread into their communities to fucking drive the Goddamn point home.

Brilliant - and who will look after the people getting ill if workers in the NHS are all off isolating!

We must learn to live with it, which also means we must learn new behaviours.

We still jump on and off planes, but nobody flies the way they used to prior to September 11.
If all the nhs are off isolating then the vaccine has massively failed and it’s time to give up.
Masks are pretty pointless though not as pointless as the stupid face shields some are wearing, you know those things with huge spaces all around them.

I agree.

What this government is doing is a good way to create new strains and have us back in restrictions before long.

Should just keep things as they are until the delta variant is under more control and the rest of Europe is doing as well as us with the vaccine, plus no new variants from there.
New strains create themselves!! Government policy will have fuck all say in it.

Then what’s the point of taking it off sat at the table!!
It’s just as daft as me being told I had to take our drinks of the tray the waiter brought over as he couldn’t touch them, who put them on it I asked…..
middle of the lockdown we had a sainsburys delivery, "there are some short date items" he says. Well this pisses the missus off because it's unusual if there aren't short date items from them, and it winds her up, so she's on one straight away.
Which ones?
So he reels off a list of about 7 or 8.
What are the dates? she asks
I don't know he replies.
Fair enough, we'll have a look
"Wait" he says, voice going up an octave, you have to confirm you're accepting them before you touch them because I can't take them back afterwards.
"scuse me?" so he repeats.
Mrs now at defcon 2 and rising
Well can you look and check the dates then please I say, being the diplomat of the household
No he says, I can't touch them, it's against the rules.
so how did all the food get into the basket? she asks
ah the pickers did that wearing gloves, says he
But you've got gloves on (blue latex type not the ones that keep your handies warm), so you can look
yes but no it's against the rules.
Mrs goes to Defcon 3
But we've has Sainsbury deliveries throughout lockdown, no one has mentioned this before says I
Ah but all the other drivers were breaking the rules says he, with a nod and a knowing wink
She hits defcon 5 missing 4 out completely rises to her full height of 5 foot and a bit "well you can take the fucking lot back then you fucking nob head she whispers.

I had no nice tea that night

allowing a greater number of people to mix creates further spread and ability for the virus to mutate.

This isn't difficult.
