If a club needs goals to get it into the premier league promised land or avoid relegation and the £100m cashfall that accompanies it, then they will put their morals aside and take a media backlash for a couple of months
Not in this climate. United must be sweating because if anything emerges which suggests they knew/tried to cover up his behaviour, then sponsors will be walking for the door.
No football club will take a punt on Greenwood in most civilised countries, when the backlash is sponsors walking away and fans and women's groups protesting outside games.
Once a brand becomes toxic, the sponsors are quick to protect their image.
United had a £250m training ground sponsorship deal lined up with Hut Group early last year and they pulled the plug once "fans" broke into Old Trafford and smashed it up.
They couldn't risk being associated with the Glazers and those rioters coming after them.
