You must have missed the news, gossip, and fans songs about him?
Iceland is the big clue.
Surely the next one to hit the news, seems to have gone very quiet that one.....for now

Good example of TV dramas clouding peoples’ knowledge of our legal system. Is there even plea bargaining in the UK?
Obviously it’s a mainstay of the US legal system.
I think he would still come out of jail a wealthy man unfortunately - which doesn't seem right. 18 months (or whatever) in clink, then back to his previous lifestylePain free?
His career is over. And as for his millions, I'm pretty sure his current outgoings on top of his substantial legal fees will soon eat into his savings once his contract is inevitably torn up. He'll no doubt find out who his real friends are.
I know, and I said so earlier. Can we please move on from trivial matters such as transfers or one upping another club. This is about a girl who's been treated in an absolute abhorrent manner and needs support, as well as justice needing to be done.
Football is so secondary.
Is that some sort of Zen thing?Does anyone know if the charges are dropped would the rat still get charged?
No, but pleas can be entered on a basis which is agreed with the prosecutions which tends to limit any sentence. Is there even plea bargaining in the UK?

MS writes 'Mendy will this year face trial over seven counts of rape and one of sexual assault, involving five women. Yet Manchester City continued to select him until it became unconscionable to do so and may suffer marked reputational damage as a result when the trial unfolds'.Papers don't know re last couple years.
There were plenty of tips last year from the public he had supposedly been arrested one particular weekend but it just never went anywhere.
Papers don't sit on stuff of such gravity if they can prove it.
What I will say, is maybe give Martin Samuel column a read today.
There is a worrying inference City could be in a much worse light after the Mendy case is all out in the wash, but United might also know a bit more than previously let on.
It's a good piece.
No worries mate, wasn’t being facetious, just didn’t think anyone hadn’t heard that story by now.I only really come on here and watch our matches on tv since I moved to oz, bit out of touch these days.

What I would say is that as soon as he was arrested he was suspended etc. To not have him training etc before any stories became public goes against the 'innocent until proven guilty' saying we have in the UK. Bit harsh to compare how we handled the case given that there weren't, to my knowledge, any rumours about Mendy floating around prior to his arrest.
You mustn't have heard the audio properly mate. Between him telling her to let him do it and threatening her to stop trying to push him off were the sounds of the act being carried out.Unfortunately it does not prove he went on and raped her. Nor does the picture of her with the words 'this is what Mason Greenwood does' prove that he hit her. I feel sure that the police interviewed her before arresting him and l hope they got more than enough to charge him.

There were reports of an unnamed player a couple of months prior to his eventual arrest.
It was known to be Mendy, it dies down and I thought it had been dismissed through a lack of evidence, but then the wheels moved quickly.
I think City were caught on the hop, but under no illusions as to Mendy.
Innocent until proven guilty means you don’t get locked up indefinitely before being convicted of a crime.
It doesn’t mean everyone has to pretend you’ve not just been arrested on suspicion of serial rape.
Obviously you know this, because he was suspended by the club when he was charged, despite still being “innocent until proven guilty”.
He is in a prison cell now despite being “innocent until proven guilty”.
The club definitely should have suspended him pending the outcome of the police investigation, and they certainly shouldn’t have had Pep stand up in a press conference and tell everyone that the man arrested for multiple rapes was “a really great guy.”
Yes , with a tag on as trial has been pushed back till the summerMendy is out on bail now isn't he ?
There are one or two strange noises towards the end and I couldn't be sure what they were but in my heart of hearts l could not be sure and believe me l wanted it to be definite enough to convict. Perhaps l need more practice watching porn. What do you recommend? ;)You mustn't have heard the audio properly mate. Seemingly there was no evidence until he committed more crimes, after which he was rearrested and charged over a couple of days.
Or not power tripping them with mass wealth :(With this incident and the Mendy one I do wonder whether this is the tip of the iceberg. Are there more stories/instances out there that have still to come to light from clubs all across the country?
There was the instance a few years back involving the Ulster Rugby lads. Different sport it may be, but all young men, athletic and adored by many. Plenty of cash around them and rarely hear the word "NO".
Thinking they can do what they want without any come back.
The line about, not so much as protecting women, as educating young men!
