For Chelsea

1) It gives them a lot of dosh
2) It means he will play against their rivals now they have finished both games with the rags
3) It may open the door for Chelski to sign Rooney
4) He is surplus to requirments at the bridge.

Against
1) It may come back and bite them in the arse next season
2) If they don't link it to Rooney Rags won't sell to Chelsea

For the rags

1)Season ticket renewals will be out soon will need to get those moving
2) Shows they can attract world class players to their team
3) Stocks and shares might improve
4) Better player than anyone currently on their books

Against

1) Player might not want to go there SNUBBAGE would be hard for them to take
2) Not really the player they need they need someone who can get the ball off the opposition and still attack Kagawa wasted at their place with hoof football.
2) Going to cost them an absolute fortune will the Glazers spunk out that kind of money.

City

If we are seriously looking at Di Maria then we should be looking at this guy. Nothing wrong with making a bid, would Mata join us well given half his Spanish team mates are here I suspect so. Turn his head, Chelsea might sell to us but unlikely but usually the players these days get their own way.

Just my opinion.

Mata is probably Chelsea's best or second best player, but why do you want him? Where is he going to play? You play 4-4-2 and whilst he is better than Nasri he is not the same player on the left. He is at his best behind the striker and even the is a liability defensively. Surely the money could be much better spent in other areas.

The last bit, the City bit. Chelsea are getting rid or certainly not playing Mata as he doesn't suit their quick transition from front to back.
While we play a more possession based game than Chelsea we still look to attack with lightening speed. This why I believe Di Maria is far more suited to us. He works harder, has more pace and is more of the winger we need to compliment our inside forwards.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be upset if we added Mata, but I'd personally prefer Di Maria.

Mourinho's issue with Mata would be our issue with Mata, only I believe if a deal were at all possible at we did a deal Pellegrini would do a far better job of fitting Mata in than both Mourinho or Moyes for that matter..

Nasri's defensive contribution is nothing to write home about as well.

Yeh I know, but I don't think Pellegrini has been too concerned about that. Silva who is pretty good defensively considering his size and gets stuck has not been tracking back like he did in your title season either. Problem is Mata is a level below even Nasri defensively. Players ghost past him really easily.

40 million to pay him out of position on the right does not seem great. If I was Mourinho would sell him to you, but not United.

Looks like this is on, sadly.

Things have really progressed and United could have it done for the weekend, with all parties talking.

£40m big ones if Chelsea hold out.

As much chance as me paying £40m.
