This is not long term looking for Mourinho unless of course he intends to take over Moyes' mess.

It doesn't in any way bother you that, during the year in which it looks the rags are finally on their knees, they go out mid season and have a clear run at one of the top creative mids in the league,? To be honest though, i've been on this forum for a few years now and it's the first time somebody has thrown the "Rag" label at me (which in itself is an achievement considering it's many posters favourite thing to do). I didn't think that when that accusation inevitably reared it's foolish head, it would be for something so rather odd as to challenging my reason for NOT wanting a world class playing joining the rags.... So erm, yeah... Well done with that one, you succeeded in throwing quite the curveball.

the reason that Chelsea are prepared to let him go is that there has been a feeling for a long time now that he doesn't do it in the big games

Just woke up to see this news. This is incredible. I would thought they would at least get Rooney if they are selling mata to the rags. 40 m is good business but they don't need the money. Why would they want to strengthen a premier league rival. It makes no sense. Even if the rags don't challenge this season what about the next 5 years? Mata is only 25/26. Your comments came over as fan who just wants to buy any player available, you see the type disguising themselves as Blues.
Anyway apologies for any offence caused, I was once called a rag and it made me laugh so hard I nearly pissed myself!

Mata will make a big difference IF they do buy him but nothing we can do about it, we have seen it all before over the last 20 years or so, the problem they have now is their manager as well as poor squad.

I don't think this deal will happen. It would be the ultimate nail in the coffin if Chelsea drag this out to the deadline and then scoff at it.

Considering that United would not sell Rooney to Chelsea I don't understand how Chelsea would sell Mata to United.

I'd be more inclined to believe that Chelsea are using this bid to prop up his transfer value to a club like PSG or Real...

Regardless this deal doesn't make sense. With Kagawa struggling to find time I don't see how they will use another player that likes to roam around and create. Like it or not Rooney is one of the best in the English game at popping up on different places
