Surely this would weaken Chelsea, with Champions league starting again soon, they like to play 3 behind the striker, Oscar Willian and Hazard, but with de Byrne gone this would leave them without cover and an injury to one or more of those 3 would leave them short.

If true, wtf is Chelsea doing selling a player like Mata to the rags?
This has to be involving a swap deal with Rooney, or mind-games by Mourinho to cancel the deal at the last minute, as someone said.
I can't understand this otherwise..Chelsea doesn't need the money
