Match fixing confirmed (including in England)

So for clarification,is this the expose that you alluded to a couple of weeks ago when you suggested that four current Premiership referees and one Premiership manager would be mentioned regarding their possible involvement in match fixing,or is this something else?
No. I was referring to something else which was specific to the PL but it's entirely possible the same source was involved in the Interpol investigation.

The CL match was Liverpool v Debrecen in September 2009, I suspect. They were expected to win handsomely but only just about scraped a 1-0 win after a goalkeeping error late on. IIRC it was that game where Gerrard's ratio of shots on target to total shots was so low it was statistically improbable compared to his previous record and it was flagged up as dodgy at the time.

-- Mon Feb 04, 2013 11:52 am --

Wouldn't be surprised if it was the Chelsea v Barcelona match. Some boggling decisions in that match. As Drogba asserted, "its a disgrace"
That may well have been dodgy but the investigation was well under way before that match so I would discount that or any other game in the last couple of seasons.

Debrecen players were questioned after their game against Fiorentina the same year FWIW.

Although their defence was a good one. "We dont need to deliberately play badly, we do that when we're trying".

I'm just left wondering just who these 'idiotic, smug sarcastic twats' are, given that I am not one of them.
Maybe they will be named and shamed along with the four bent refs and one dodgy manager in due course.
Or maybe not.

So is it o'k to go around calling folk smug twats for no reason?
