Match fixing confirmed (including in England)

I havent decided on any outcome tbh just the probability suggest that at some level, somewhere there is an element of corruption!

The clandestine nature in which the FA is run points to something being amiss, i mean in what other independent governing body would the chairman of one of its members sit on the board a conflict of interests which is conveninetly ignored.

If it was truly an independent body no member would have any official ties to any clubs and the voting would be openly instead of by secret behind the doors funny handshake brigaade panels!

The Barca/Chelsea one is certainly the most glaring. Doesn't mean it was that one though, if there were 450 people involved they probably could do a better job of keeping it under the radar.

Has to be Spurs v Inter.<br /><br />-- Mon Feb 04, 2013 2:05 pm --<br /><br />Yeah forgot about the Chelsea v Barça game from 2009.

But it could also just be a small thing like "there will be a throw in immediately from the kick off in ech half" or "there will be a throw in on the 67th minute".

Match fixing doesn't necessarily mean a score line or a winner has been fixed.

I was openminded with alot of this shit regarding match fixing, and after regularly reading that Football is Fixed blog for awhile I became totally convinced our game (The Prem) is fixed and no mass media revelation would surprise me.

I know Europol haven't said The Prem is (yet) but I just have this feeling and have had for awhile when decisions go certain ways, both for and against us btw.

The game stinks!

My guess is the scum vs Aalborg:

<a class="postlink" href="http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/91713-video-evidence-wayne-rooney-vs-aalborg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/91 ... vs-aalborg</a>

Wayne Rooney finds himself at the centre of a storm after last night’s Champions League match with Aalborg, with the United forward charged with a series of unsavoury incidents including stamping on one of his opponents.

The chief victim of Rooney’s alleged misbehaviour was Aalborg’s inside-left midfielder Kasper Risgard, with video footage clearly showing Rooney stamping on the Risgard’s chest just before the interval.

In a separate incident during the second half, Rooney was seen dangerously lunging, with his studs up, at the back of defender’s Michael Jakobsen calf.

There was still more to come, as later in the match Rooney showed his petulance by lashing out at Thomas Augustinussen, who the striker felt was too close to him in midfield.

After the match Rooney was forced to explain his actions, with the striker simply arguing "it’s football, it’s a physical game".

Video evidence of Rooney’s performance against Aalborg can be seen here.

The problem is, i can't see how it is fixed. In terms of gambling which is what has been implicated today it is fixed and a lot of games will be under scrutiny, it's the same in almost all sports but as for the fixing of games in the league itself, the media being involved, the FA/Premier League etc, i'm sorry but that is not true.

There is no single purpose to fixing games for anything other than entertainment value which results in money from TV? But judging on some of the shite games i've seen this year it can therefore only be the top clubs because what is the point of a team like Stoke for example fixing their games? I don't think the game stinks, i think certain individuals will try to sway games for gambling reasons and there is no doubt it happens, i mean it happened big time in Italy but here in the UK in the Premier League and the idea of some massive collusion to fix games at a top level, not a chance.

The Premier League is a money making machine definitely but i don't see any reason for the any form of match fixing to go on other than for some individuals to try and make a few bob which is exactly what has been implicated today, which games these were and just how these games were fixed will be interesting and the most worrying thing is that players are involved. I can only imagine it'll just be some dodgy Russian teams, Italians who are more swayed to corruption due to the lower salaries they get paid.

Very interesting to witness Sky Sports take on all this. As soon as I saw this thread I went and had a quick check and the Reports were mentioning that a Champions League game in England was one of the Games under suspicion; which has been pointed out by PB.

By the time of the Midday Sky Sports news, it had been relegated as the top story in favour of Sturridge's withdrawal from the England squad. When the report did appear Sky now claim they had initially helped in setting the Ball rolling with a report to Europol and then had a bloke on talking about games in the Finland third division watched by a couple of hundred and where the players are of African origin. No more mentions of the Champions League game in England being involved.

As for the opinion of Fetlocks and a few others about waiting for more evidence and convictions; Bollocks to that. As fas as I am concerned their is no smoke without fire and I am off to Facebook to torture a few Mickeys by saying its the Liverpool v Debrecen match and the ringleader is the Starfish!

The biggest issue I had with the "brown envelopes" thread is that some posters wouldn't even begin to entertain the idea that there could be a possibility that the Premier League may be open to corruption. Fact is, if people can be bought in Italy and Germany then they can also be bought in England. History shows that people have been guilty of match-fixing here in the past so why is it not possible for it to happen again?

Actually mate some folk were saying the prem is corrupt
All some of us did was ask for evidence
As yet not one jot of it in over 20 years, and no one found guilty of anything.
