Amazing to me that a lot here single out Palmer, when he has created our only chance this half. What about the rest that has done absolutely nothing?

Poor half from the whole team, especially Ake and Gvardiol that let Sevilla score on a chance that shouldn't even been a chance. 2v1 and did absolutely nothing to stop the only attacker in the box despite both standing right next to him. Unfortunately we got few attacking options on the bench too since we for some reason decided to wait until the season had already started before we started working on our transfer business.

On a positive note, it can only get better from here! Expect us to be much better in the second half :)
And yeah, I know we won a treble last season, that doesn't mean we are playing well so far today.

It wasn’t a 2 v 1. Bounou played a ball through like 6 players and they attacked 5 on 3. Ake was leaving the man who scored to take a runner at the near post and Gvardiol was a second late to arrive on that man. They were outnumbered and just didn’t get there in time

Weird to put akanji in the stones role, he's probably the least technical of all our centre backs, just odd, gvardiol would surely make more sense.

Kovacic really impressing me, actually looks to move or pass forward first, hope pep doesn't train it out of him.

Grealish needs to wake up, looked almost uninterested all pre-season, about time he steps up now. Did foden go off for a shit or something, forgot he was playing for about 20 minutes, need to get him involved if we are to get back into this.

Expect pep to use subs in the heat, Lewis to come on and do what akanji has been doing, alvarez to come on down the middle, foden out wide to attack that space they're affording us out wide with grealish coming off.
I’d always thought Laporte could do what Stones does in terms of stepping in to midfield. He’s an excellent passer.

Haaland has to hold the ball better when it’s played into him especially against packed defences like these are playing. The fact they have a 1 goal lead to protect makes this very hard to turnaround.

Can’t help but feel we really miss mahrez in these kind of games, he was always good for a goal or assist against these deep blocks
Haaland has got a lot of work to do on that part of his game.

Didn’t look out of place at all, he needs to be playing on a regular basis for that confidence to improve to take more chances. Areas to improve Especially that positioning in the box like when Grealish put the ball over into the box he ran in front of the defender instead of behind. Sterling developed this skill massively under Pep.
Indeed. I often think that the youngsters avoid taking risks that could bugger up an attack and see them occupying the bench for the next five games.
