He is more similar to Bernardo in the way he plays than gundogan or Phillips imo. Obviously he can’t play on the wing but when central he is very good presser, good dribbler and keeps the ball well.

It helped massively Haaland not going to the World Cup this year and De Bruyne and Gundogan both went home early.

He's a very different profile to Rodri or Phillips (or Fernandinho or Yaya or really anyone Pep has given a decent amount of minutes as a #6 at City) so I think expecting him to replace Phillips is misguided. More likely it could indicate a change to a double pivot or maybe even Bernardo getting more minutes on the wing.
