He's been fantastic so far this season and I hope him and Kompany become an immense centre back partnership in the years to come.

He's confident on the ball and isn't scared to play long forward passes even if he gives the ball away occasionally. Looks like a decent threat at corners too.

He will have a bad game at some point but he seems the type of player that is mentally and technically strong enough to carry on what he's doing.

I like the way he's followed Vinnie, Joe and Zaba by coming over to applaud the fans after every game. Good to see.

More and more impressed by Nastasic by the game. At the highest level, what goes on in a player's head is hugely important and this guy looks like he has it up top.

Potentially he could be better than Vidic because of his ability on the ball (as well as his all round defending), but what makes Vidic so good is his consistency which has been achieved over years.

Best 19-year-old centre-half we have had since Tommy Booth. What do people expect? The equal of Beckenbaur in his prime? Give the lad a chance to develop.

i thought he was very good yesterday. he has exceptional positional sense and is quite fast. he is 19 and plays like this, imagine him at 25. also im shocked about people saying that kompany didn't play well yesterday. i thought he was colossal yesterday especially in the second half and cant remember ronaldo getting past him except from one time in the first half. kompany and nasty are our best center backs and kompany is ideal for the development of nastasic. and vinnie is the best cb in the world, there's no doubt in my mind ( i even saw him outpacing ronaldo one time in the second half), he is our leader.

Sorry to be picky on what is a very good post but to say Vinnie outpaced Ronaldo a couple of times is nonsense.Ronaldo could give Vinnie(and most defenders)5 yards over 30 and still beat him with ease.What you actually saw was Vinnie blatantly obstruct him twice,only for that shocking ref to wave play on.
