Matija Nastasic

One of the few good things to come out of last night was Nasti`s performance, he never looked out of place against top class opposition at any time, kept his cool when playing out and saved a certain goal that kept us in the match.

Even more impressive when you look at his age and the fact he was playing alongside a still not quite 100% Vinny.
 
Matija Nastasic so far has been the only real and instant success out of that last batch of signings at the end of the transfer window. For a 19 year old he has settled in well, and has a tremendous work rate and work ethic. His running to clear off the goal-line last night against Real Madrid should be an inspiration to all defenders to never give up.

After winning the title we didn't need to do much with our strong squad in the summer; on the IN side - just tinkering, on the OUT side - just clearing some deadwood. Roberto didn't make best use of his time or money during the last transfer window, maybe he was panicing, maybe he was distracted by all that Marwood nonesense and his contract negotiations.

Too many changes of personnel and tactics are the root cause of our poor showing in Europe. I hate to say I told you so, but I did. I don't want to see us get like Chelsea or Spurs changing managers all the time. Lets settle down and build consistency in the EPL.

The reason the ref didn't give them was pretty clear to me. Ronaldo fell to the floor a number of times over the evening when he didn't need to. He's tall, athletic and easily capable of physically holding off players so it's more obvious when he collapses without much cause.

As soon as Vinnie put an arm near him, he acted like he'd been hit by a truck. In the second, stronger challenge, which almost certainly was a foul, he stopped because he'd been blocked off then fell to the floor. If it's clear to the ref that part of the response is simulated then he is going to give the benefit of the doubt to the defender.

It's the reason I was so surprised by the shock around here when Balotelli didn't get a pen against Ajax. Balo was fouled, but he then threw himself to the floor - giving the ref an easy decision to make.

Yea, Lily definitely had a lot more problems than those in his head
 
Has come in and done excellent, yet has received no hype or recognition, if only he was English he would already be down as the future captain!
